And they said, Akio Toyoda was stupid to say electric cars are not the future, and hybrids are.
He finally had the last laugh <3

People I know with EVs love them and never want to switch back to ICE

Wait until the government start charging tax by miles driven on our cars (it doesn’t matter if it is gas, electric or in between

Can’t charge at work, can’t charge at home. Sitting in a random wal mart parking lot for hours charging each month doesn’t appeal to me. Time is money!

Lack of an infrastructure in the Midwest and Northeast is the primary barrier for me.

Hybrid cars make the most sense right now. No range anxiety, greater range than any EV, more reliable, etc.

My buddy is one of those 40% folks. He had a 2012 Model S and traded it in for a Hybrid Highlander.

Reasons he ditched his Tesla:

1. Suspension repair was almost $8k
2. Battery degradation and repair cost to replace his battery.
3. Traveling charge anxiety.

He likes to travel and charging his Tesla required planning for charging stations and TIME. He hated the time it takes to charge and how it lengthens his trip time to his destination.

He is far more happy with his Hybrid Highlander.

The only people who I see complaining about EV’s, are people who have never even driven one, or people who bought an EV and didn’t think about how to reliably charge it.

Nothing should change until it’s as practical as an ice car, period.

I get 40mpg on my honda Accord hybrid. What more can you ask for, 530+ mile range . EV dont even come close to that range, and you are paying double the price that's going to depreciate faster than an ICE car. Sounds like EV cars are a liability rather than an asset.

I always felt like hybrids were the sweetspot. TOYOTA WAS RIGHT... AS ALWAYS.

All of the EV enthusiasts accused the Japanese for being late to the "revolution". As if Toyota or Honda dont have years of experience and research lol.

I thought I was going insane at the height of the EV craze. As a lifelong car person and PC enthusiast, it was crystal clear that EV tech will progress quickly, and older EVs will be treated like an old PC. No one really wants it. And battery replacement can range in the tens of thousands. All the "gas" money they all saved does not even come close to the bath all EV owners have taken on resale value

I don't want a car that need to be paired to a recent mobile phone with a internet plan and a credit card to go from a to b.

Charging infrastructure….Point blank…Period…

My problem with EV's is the lie about the range, and it isn't enough. I want 400 consistently.

I was Lexus IS owner went to Tesla and I don’t plan on going back any time soon. If you don’t have the means to charge it, then you can’t drive an EV. Means to charge means charging at home or work, not relying on the supercharger network.
