How to weld with a Flux-Core Welder From Harbor Freight!

I recommend welding with the welder set to max, with the wire speed at about 5-6. Using a zigzag motion across the weld. Just make sure when you are doing the zigzag, that the molten puddle is moving along as a straight puddle, and isn't making a zigzag motion with the weld.

Be careful with wire wheels!! They have a tendency to Yeet material away from them.

The machine I'm using is the Chicago Electric 90 Amp. With E71T-GS Flux-core wire. This machine isn't on amazon, but the 60-125 Amp machine is, so I will link to that.

Covers the basics, just what I needed. Here's hoping the exhaust welding goes well..

If you leave a gap in the plates you will have a stronger weld. The Weld will go all the way through to the back side.. Good video thanks👍

I notice pretty much everyone who uses these Harbor Freight Flux Core welders comment about the amount of spatter the wire creates but no one mentions the various sprays and tip-dips you can use to reduce the spatter or make it easier to clean off. Weird. You'd figure these products would be sold hand-in-hand with all flux core welders. The products do work.

You should do a video on how you want your puddle to look and metal thickness. I want to do wrought iron projects but I don’t want to burn thru them

One more thing, if it is possible to switch the polarity the welder will be much better. The Postive is on the gun thus heating the wire way way too hot to where it just explodes ( EXTRA SPLATTER) WHERE IT SHOULD BE HEATING UP THE MATERIAL INSTEAD. SO A SWITCH OF POSTIVE AND NEGATIVE WOULD BE A MUST FIR THIS WELDER IF IT IS EVEN POSSIBLE ON THIS MODEL.

Great video! You kind of sound like Kal Penn.

what brand wire are you using ? I think higher grade flux wire will reduce your splatter immensely . I have an old HF 131 and i use Hobart mig wire and get very little spatter.

Another video showing a Lincoln welder shows that the leads are wired wrong with negative ground . Is the Harbor Freight also wired negative ground and should it be reversed to pos grd and neg to the wire?

Is this machine good enough for
.25 thick steel to weld with

Should I pay 150 for my flex pipe from my car exhaust to be cut off and weld a new one or should I buy a 125 flex welder and learn myself and do it myself. They both about the same price

Would the welder weld a traction bar brackets on my truck frame and be done good enough to structurally hold it and be safe as far as the weld is done very good and nice will the wire or metal itself Bond the metals together good enough to be sturdy on a would you feel safe if you welded say leaf spring brackets to the frame on a vehicle would you feel safe if it was welded correctly with that welder
