Bought this phone just yesterday. I considered the OP6 and Huawei P20. I didn’t want a notch so the OP6 was out and I just don’t like the build quality of Huawei after my Nexus 6p shattered after a small drop. The Mix 2s seems very solid so far. Good battery life, and the gestures become very natural after a short time. MiUi is a step down from stock android, but I’m giving it a chance. For the price, I can’t complain. I live in Thailand and it’s actually cheaper than the OP6. The case that is included is very good too. Feels good in the hand.

I'll take a small chin over a hideous notch any day of the week. I like this phone, actually a lot more than I thought I would....I may have to try this one out. I absolutely love this review, extremely well laid out and presented, great job Victor!

Finally a good review of the mix 2s. I find it to be the most beautiful flagship of 2018 with that beast sd845. The gestures appear to be more smooth than the op6.
But I can't buy it since it's not available here. I'll have to pay a lot of tax if imported.

One thing you didn't mention. Audio quality when recording video is HORRIBLE. Some people say it can be fixed in a software update and has something to do with the microphone settings. It's truly terrible.

I have to make a correction to my post below - the CDMA will work in both sim slots, but when I finally put in two verizon (cdma) sims together, only one worked. No idea why they both didn't but I was in error below regarding both cdma's working in tandem. You need one cdma and one gsm. Sorry. I wanted to correct this.

Why is it so hard for you to check audio levels? The volume is 11db too low.

I have this phone and it is fabulous! It is fast, smooth, works great with Google Play. And, it will take both CDMA (Verizon) and GSM (AT&T and T-Mobile). You can have two VErizon numbers, two GSM numbers or one of each, in either Sim card slot. I know of no other phone that will do this. It is superfast on transferring data to it. I transferred over 6 gb of music in less than five minutes yesterday. With the ability to use cdma and gsm simultaneously, it is unequaled if you have more than one number, such as a business and personal number.

I love how you presented this phone. I hope Xiaomi will continue with Mix phone line. Slightly thiner bottom bezel and higher resolution display panel would make this phone a perfect choice for me.
