Also to note that it seems there is no EIS in 4k when it's enabled. In 1080p it's clearly better. using Open Camera it's no different. But crazy how the Redmi Note 5 has better, smoother 4k video than this flagship with EIS using Open Camera!

Correction: The focus peaking and control was later added to the Mi Mix 2, but when I first reviewed it on the frist Chinese Mix 2 ROM the option wasn't there! Overall it looks like a nice upgrade for the SoC and cameras. But if you already have the Mi Mix 2S I wouldn't bother unless you love the design but want a better camera.

I've been looking for a proper review like yours for the last couple of days, I figured the phone has been out for a while and it was just obscure enough or hard enough to get that no one bothered, I didn't even realise that this review was only released a few days ago, thanks for being pretty quick to the game and being so in depth!
Whilst my s8 isn't exactly slow or anything like that, I've always liked the look of the Mi Mix phones, and I'm curious as to what something like MIUI would be like on a daily basis, I might grab one of these as a business phone in the future.

The main improvement of the camera is low light photo quality, you can try to take some photos in the evening. Remember to turn off AI camera function in low light condition while opening auto HDR, because AI camera will disable the camera's multi frame noise cancellation function. The DXOmark score of mix2s is 97, which is the same as iPhone X.

Ceramic is nice touch and beautiful but heavy is a problem. Actually the camera is a big improvement compare to mi mix 2. And the battery is run out very fast when high quality of gaming.
