Boeing needs to design and build a clean-slate narrow body jet. The company has milked the 737 way too long.

The max design is an engineering nightmare with the engines positioned too high. Instead of raising the planes to make room for the engines like airbus, Boeing created a fundamentally flawed design that must be corrected for in software… when it works.

Let’s move on from this insane MAX design.

Boeing being a "better" company is still Boeing being a worse company than Boeing really was.

I wish along with so many of my former Southwest coworkers and current Southwest employees that Bob Jordan and his Corporate Stooges would take the time to follow up with investigations you promised that you or your team of corporate stooges to investigate. God Awful Leadership that is only going to get worse.

Oh boy, another CEO doubling down for Boeing. Who’s sleeping with who?

Boeing has an excellent track record for quality of aircraft which is why it has so much support. The 737MAX has not been the best representation of Boeing's work. There have been many hurtles; poor communication, inadequate training, manufacturing issues due to the pandemic, major design changes, pressure to stay competitive, staffing shortages, expansion bans and delivery timelines to name a few.

All that being said, every airline, pilot, flight attendant and maintainer want the same thing, for the passengers and plane to make it from point A to point B safely. Safety culture is a huge part of the aviation industry and there is no way an airline could be successful without it. After all the passengers and crew make it to their stop, obviously it would be ideal if the airline nets a profit at the end of the day. Those who think corners are cut at the manufacturing or airline level definitely don't have a grasp on how much staffing and maintaining an aircraft cost (or in Boeing's case, reimbursing all the above). It is much more profitable to have a safe, well built, efficient and well maintained fleet then a ramp full of grounded airplanes and thousands of angry customers.

Unfortunately humans weren't made with wings and there will be hurtles while we figure out how to fly better, faster, farther and safer. Aviation has always been trial and error pushed to the limits. Today that error is near zero and tomorrow aviation demands better.

The silver lining to any aviation failure is that historically it has made the whole industry, product and service both safer and more reliable. Recent events with the MAX will no doubt continue this trend. Just like every other aircraft, improvements to the original design will contine indefinitely to make it safer, more reliable and more efficient.

Southwest booking system sucks big time

Had the worst ever customer service on southwest on the holidays. It happened each leg of my trip. Won’t ever fly them again.

Quality and safety over profit is required in airlines. This needs to be stressed every single day. Stock buybacks should be banned from airlines and transportation. Financials are less important than safety and quality control. People are upset over the loose bolts and doors flying off.

Bob you call it a great year of 2023 I specifically remember two meltdowns! Southwest has turned into a trash airline, expensive with price fixing and making record profits because of it I’ll never fly them ever again

imagine owning a stock where the CEO says many records for the year...but the stock is down 50% from highs

airlines are tough to own.

He sounds like speaking for themselves and not a customer. Customers don't care about Boeing which is not safe.. nose dive in... And door open up, software.. every time Boeing. There no one else in the market so southwest, Alaska ... Everyone is cheering for them..
