Why didn't Mai attack Marik? Because the urge to summon a God card is strong! #yugioh #yugi #anime

If Mai Valentine attacked Marik that time she got the God Card, she could've ended the story right then and there.

In the sub, Marik says that Holding Arms literally cannot be attacked during those 3 turns. That's the only justification I could think of for why Mai didn't simply attack with her Harpie
She probably intended to use Ra's high ATK as a defense against any other monsters Marik summons, until Holding Arms lost it's protection, then Mai could use Ra to win

Unfortunately of course, this doesn't happen because Marik is a cheater and/or plot armor exploiter

My could not do anything with the wing dragon of ra. Because ra needed an incantation to release it. Merrick and the pharaoh only knew it.

It was a smart move since the God Cards were the strongest summons at the time. Yet the fact you needed an incantation which was never used ever again, that was the plot armor saving Marik. He would've lost before he faced the Pharaoh by either Mai or Joey.

Mai tries summoned the Winged Dragon of Ra but he was in a sphere, Mai is down and Marik goes down to the pin and it's all over for the Evil Sinistras.

If the show played out how real life duels do it’d be boring as hell for a show. Gotta have the god card out
