Sorting and Organising My Entire Collection of Schmincke Horadam Watercolour Paints!

I've been meaning to do this for ages, but now I have finished collecting all of the Supergranulation paints, I decided now would be a great time to sort all of those, along with all of my other Schmincke watercolours, into new and organised palettes. This was a big job but now everything makes a lot more sense, and it is really great having all of my paint colours easy to access and see. I hope you enjoy this organisation video, which includes paint pouring, sorting into tins, and swatching all of the colours.

I'm drooling here at the thought of discounted Schmincke paints. So beautiful and satisfying to watch as you went through and organized these palettes.

I love making new palettes and swatching all the colors, then deciding I want to add more, or different brands and making another new palette and more swatches...but wait more new paint! (and the cycle continues lol)

Oh, how fun to spend a few days just organizing, reorganizing and swatching paints! It does take a lot of time, though, so I definitely understand why you're tired. Whew! But it looks great in the end!

It isn’t easy, loving watercolor. Not exactly “tra-la-la-la-la” down the garden path 😂. My husband keeps asking “but I rarely see you painting, are you having fun?” It includes a LOT of organizing and cleaning and more organizing. May I say it’s SOOO nice watching you do it!!!! 🥰🥰🥰

I really like the pallet top left at the end, good idea to use the extra big pans. According to an acquaintance who’s a doctor, colours can make us happy, give us inspiration etc because they stimulate (I think that was the word used) the reward centre in the brain. Our attraction to paints and always looking for new colours and the happiness and hopefully satisfaction of painting is good for us. Knowing this we don’t have to feel any guilt buying new paints! 😉

I like watching these sort of videos, plus I enjoy doing poring paint into pans too and organising them.

I just poured all my colors last weekend and this weekend I need to get them organized. Im rigging an 18 well Medeen plastic palette with 48 hlf pans in the mixing area and 18 poured into the wells. I have 2 and one will be for purples pinks blues and the other neutrals reds yellows and greens and the 12 pack starter of Qor in the wells. I'm mixing all brands and I may not have enough space. I may have an addiction. I still want those granulating colors and I'll be sure to use your link 😁.

Thank you for the video, Becky, and have a good week.

Oh, wow, I need to do the exact same thing with all my Schmincke, Sennelier, and Daniel Smith's. I'm sure it'll take me many days, too. Lovely video - Thanks, Becky!

You can take a screwdriver and lift the rails in the palette, then you have a nice flat surface to hold a ton more pans. The rails are just glued on. Basically you get another row of 13 half pans.

I really enjoyed this video! I did a similar exercise recently organising all my paints into palettes - so much work but so satisfying once done 😊 I’ve got some smaller empty tins that I fill with halfpans for specific purposes, like botanicals or my favourites. I make swatches as I go along so these palettes are easy to replicate by just pulling out the colours from the larger tins.
