NESPi Case for Raspberry Pi

The NESPi case makes a Raspberry Pi Model B+, Raspberry Pi 2, Raspberry Pi 3 or Tinker Board look like a classic Nintendo Entertainment System console. Here I fit a Raspberry Pi 3 in the NESPi and test it out.

My Raspberry Pi Windows 3.1 video is here:

Nice looking box that it comes in, it fooled into thinking that was the case until you opened the box and took out the case

I got one of these a few weeks back from Amazon. Good to see they've gone viral or something since then because I'm setting them get reviewed everywhere. Highly recommended little case. 10/10

I just love the thing. Bought one for myself (the + version with upgraded power and reset buttons) and was so pleasantly surprised I immediately bought another one with a Pi3 included as a present for a friend's kid (get them while they're young)!
Great product, stylish, extremely portable and quite rugged. It's become a beloved piece of entertainment kit in our household (so many games!!) We even lug it around when airbnb-ing. So practical and great value for money.

This brings me back to my childhood. I got one of these for Christmas as a 7 year old. I'm going to order one on Amazon now. It looks fantastic

I have one of those, got it back in the beginning of the summer. I was glad I did. I not only love the look, it makes makes it a much better form factor. And the handy holder underneath for spare SD cards is brilliant for swapping the OS and not misplaceing the Micro SD card.

I bought one of these a month ago and was very impressed with it both as a case and resembling an nes. The only real knock against mine was that the screws fastening the pi down weren't perfect, but the pi 3 sits in there very well.

I got one of these cases with the little fan and I needed my 2.5 amp power supply for it to run well without that lightning bolt symbol on the upper right corner of the screen. It ran fine with 2 amps when the fan wasn't connected. I love it and I will probably get more. Thanks for letting us know it also fits a tinker board sometime I might try one of those out.

i really like this case, the fact that you have 7 usb ports, 3 of which are plug and-forget, on the pi itself, makes this super nice, also having the fan port, and a the power button, just makes it one of the best pi cases i've seen.. plus, it's a NES, how neat is that?

Great case and great review of it. I wouldn't have thought they included a breakout board. Nice surprise.

I was thinking £25 for a cardboard box and then you opened it. I would be happy getting the cardboard box to put on my shelf. It looks great

Love this case, one of my favorites along with the Rasptendo case and the Super Kintaro SNES cases!!

I just did a retropi build in this a couple of weeks ago. Very nice case. The only complaint I have about it is that I wish the area under the flip lid was recessed a bit so that you could hide the game dongle while still having access to it.

Slick product. There's certainly a consumer need for more options involving cases for these little boards.

Ive came up with the similiar idea last year, but in my case I did it the old fashioned way. I simply took the shell of an old gaming console, and put a SBC inside. At the front I made a hole and fitted standart USB hub. After the prototype I made, and Im often using, since its easy to carry around, and play games with friends, I also made a couple of them for my friends requests using the cases of damaged consoles, which can be bought cheaply (mostly Playstation 2 Slim, and it even does have two USB port holes at front). For my fiance young brother Im doing a case basing on a toy car.
Of course this is still a very unpolished way of doing this, and since Im planning to buy a cheap 3D printer, my future works would improve much, and so the sky would be the limit.

Hi Chris, I got this case and its awesome! One thing Id like to point out (from knowledge I gained from your channel :) ) is that for a safety measure when using this case where it kills the power risking SD corruption, what I did in my build was use Berryboot on the SD then boot retropie of a mini USB drive that plugs into the pie itself so its out of view and you dont have to leave the lid open in the front....so thanks mate for that! :)

I appreciate the review. I would have never considered a retro gaming case, but the layout of the case is very impressive for a Pi case. Very cool indeed! I look forward to your next video.

I am going to get this kit now that you have reviewed it. Thank you Chris.

I wish the Ethernet port was on the back, though maybe that was difficult given where the port is in the Pi. I connect everything via Ethernet unless it’s a mobile device.

I’ve been seeing these around. Good to see they are a quality build. 👍

Excellent looking case, if there was way of getting the Ethernet on the back of case with power and hdmi, It would make a cracking little Media centre
