Hang in there AutoEdit You Tube friends... I'm committing to the channel and want to start creating much more content BUT I NEED YOUR HELP! Just give these videos a watch and like... subscribe if you haven't yet.... that's it.
Here's a link to the Lucas transmission fluid that I use in this video:

I know some of you are just fans of the Mustang build or the Jeep or welcome to those new to the Ram Truck build up.
All I'm asking for is support in the way of a click... a few more views and subscriptions go a long way in keeping the channel going so I can focus more on just these projects and doing more on them sooner!
With some of the videos going up on the channel only getting a few views, it shows me that my friends here are very specific on what they want to see.
That is completely understandable and I respect that... but the channel as a whole needs support to grow. So please help by just clicking on some of the videos... even if it's on one of the projects that don't quite "float your boat" ... It will help me get to the one you do like sooner!!!!

Thanks so much for the support and friendship here on the YouTube already and I look forward to many more years!

Best,
Jason

I don't own a Jeep, Ram, or Mustang, but I watch all your videos anyway. They're well shot and edited and are always full of interesting info. Maybe one of these days I'll buy a Jeep of my own and will be able to use some of the knowledge I've gained from your channel. Thanks for the videos and keep up the great work!

IMPORTANT:
When you're adding fluid on a hot engine, make sure you give the new fluid a chance to get hot before you check the level again.
When you check it right after you put the cold fluid in, you'll end up putting in way more than it needs (even though the levels looked good) because it hasn't had a chance to expand yet.
This will leave you with a blown filter seal and a $6 - 10, 000 bill for a new transmission.
Which is exactly what happened to me (2013 Ram, 140K miles)

I hadn't seen this video before. I almost cried when i saw Pinto knowing she's gone. So sorry for your loss, she seemed like a great dog.
Thanks for the video.

I always like to wear some safety glasses when I'm under the truck. There's always bits and pieces of crud waiting to fall into my face. In a situation like this, considering the risk of spilling, it would be a must for me.
Thanks for the vid, love them all!

Good idea dropping the pan slightly. I would push a rubber tube through the gap, then syphon as much fluid off as possible.

Thanks for the video. This was the first time I did this myself on my 2004 Ram 1500. I spent a good 2 hours cleaning all the RTV off, there was so much everywhere. It was a pain to seat the seal for the filter, but I got it done. Also, taking off the pan was a pain because there was so much RTV. Just a warning to any newbie DIY mechanics like myself; most likely your experience won’t be as smooth as anyone’s video makes it seem. It usually takes me a lot more time and a lot of swear words, lol.

Fluid extractor down the dipstick tube helps minimize the mess.

Thanks for the oil pan tip, it will not be fun getting warm transmission oil on your head while doing the job. Looking forward to more videos!!!

A little tough getting to the two bolts under the exhaust pipe. It would have been helpful to see how YOU manage to get to them and with what tools. I ended up using a box end wrench. Also, knowing how tight to make the screw on filter when installing the new one, would have been helpful. I used "hand tighten" only. My kit came with a rubber gasket and it made installation much easier by pushing the pan bolts through prior to re-installing the pan. The rubber holds all the bolts in the pan so well.

1. Posting frequently will help the channel grow.
2. DIY should be a separate series.
This should be DIY ep.1
3. Make a performance parts series coz people love performance parts.
4. Make a myth busting series.

I like the variation of intros, coordinating with what you are working on.

Your dog loves you and is comfortable with you. You have a good bond. So I like you now, lol. Good info, nice ride.

I have a 5qt pump fluid extractor. Insert clean suction tub down the dipstick tube and eliminate the mess. I just dropped the pan yesterday and saw the end of the dipstick.

Previous owner used RTV…this is a messy delay and now I will be on day 2 lol.

After first drain n fill n filter change, I've been siphoning fluid out through the dipstick using cheap fish aquarium hose.

Takes lil more time, but no more spilling oil pan or mucking up my gasket 😀

Great video. Thank you. My transmission fluid pressure light came on. I topped it off. Light did not go away. I will be doing the full fluid and filter change as they said this could also be the problem. You video was detailed to the point and very very helpful as I have never done this. If you comment I will let you know how I did.

Might i recommend an aftermarket oil pan, with a drain plug. That makes life way easier. You can change the oiI way more often, and it's super easy, but you still have to remove it every so often to change the filter and gasket. And sometimes, like on my old 5.9L, adjust the transmission bands. Good luck!
