In this video, I'll be showing you how to under volt and under clock your CPU. This is especially effective in laptops with thin bodies and powerful internals such as the Gigabyte P34Gv2.

Awesome tutorial. I've been playing with BF4 on max settings at 90-95C temps and I almost resorted in buying a cooling pad. After following this tutorial my temps are now 76-79!

Thanks so much for this guide. I have the i7-4720HQ and it was running around 90-98 degrees during high gaming sessions. After lowering core 3 and 4 to 2.7 and undervolting the laptop it now hits 75-85 max! Perfect!! Thanks again!

Would strongly recommend this to those using Asus G751 series notebooks. Absolutely amazing notebooks, but for some reason the processor is known for passing 90 degrees. This really helps, and you'll add a significant amount of time onto the life expectancy of your notebook.

Thank you, Sebastian! I used your video to cool down an Intel i7 4770k in a desktop computer. By undervolting the CPU using exactly 60 mV and underclocking it by 0.5 GHz, I am now getting down from 89 Celcius maximum to 70 Celcius.

You are a genius! I have a Gigabyte P27GV2 and my temperature while gaming was 91-99 celcius!. After this i have a max 81 degrees with the same performance. Thank you very much!

Hey dude! I gotta thank you a lot! I followed your guide and now my i7 4720HQ runs at 65ºC max in the stress test. The previous values with defaults setting were 85ºC! This is a massive drop in temps! I'm not even using a decent cooling pad. Thx a lot for this guide|

awesome video, thanks for the clear explanation. This helped my laptop CPU a lot, preventing thermal throttling.

Oh men! That works so much in my Alienware 15 R3 i7-6820HK! Thank son much...

Wow... I don't usually say this... but I really appreciate your help. I've recently bought i7 - 4790k for my laptop, and it really made me mad with high temp - with xtu stres test, it always went up to 99 c. However, by using ur method, my temperature is solid high 70 ~ mid 80 max, with very little sacrifice of the cpu performance (about .2 ghz). Again thank you :D

Thanks for the vid but I think only you have to do is set minimum processor state %1 and maximum %99 from Windows Power Management settings. That way CPU won't go beyond its stock clock and will also do power saving when idle.

Hey, cool way to naturally decreasure temperatures in laptop.

I have a quick question about the intel XTU app.

I found out by going into my power options > advanced > processor power mangement, im able to decrease temperature a solid 60C to 45C idle temp by changing the power state from 100% to 85%.

my quesion is, does changing the power state % in power options change any values from the intel XTU system information page??

if it does, can i undervolt without reducing max Ghz for stabilizations?

I havn't done any stress testing yet. since i just found out about this method

Thanks

Thanks for the video! My i7 6700k hits temps over 80c under load so this was really needed. How do you prevent your settings from getting reset with every reboot?

Hey dude! Awesome videos! I just recieved this laptop, and after trying the XTU stress test for CPU I get an average temperature of 79 degree celcius and no throttling after 5 mins. Do you think I should do the undervolting anyway? This is without repasting aswell.

Hey there I love you guide on this. I just did this to my laptop and it did decrease the temperature by a bit. I have a question though. Is it worth it to undervolt the GPU as well? I have noticed throttling when I play certain games in my hot room on my laptop. Thanks in advance.

Hey man love your videos, I've been wanting to get the p34g v2 for a while now and I have enough money saved up but after reading rumors about the 900m series I'm hesitant, do you think there will be a p34g v3? I can't decided whether or not to wait for a 14 inch laptop with a 900m series gpu or just buy this one. Let me know what you think thanks :) and subbed

brilliant! I do have a question. I I just got a 6700K (inside a gaming laptop) stock 4.0GHz turbo 4.2 GHz. The manufacture already overclocked and tested it for me. I'm just wondering if I can change the base clock speed from 100MHz down to 95MHz and the multipliers from stock 40-42 down to 30-40 achieving base clock speed 2.85 GHz turbo 3.8 GHz with lowered voltage (not sure how low). Would this save power and lower max temp? thank you

Yo thanks for the tips! really easy method. why should I NOT underclock active cores 1 and 2 and just leave them to be at 34x and 33x?
Thanks!!

every time i shut down and reboot my pc, thte undervolt isnt applied. i have to go back into extu and reapply it. How can i fixx it so that my voltage is undervolted automaticaly?
