Reminds me of Led Zeppelin in 1977 at Oakland. Tickets were $12 and it sold out fast, but massive numbers of tickets were purchased to re-sell, with some going for $25 in the newspaper classifieds. My brother had a few and wanted more than that, so we drove to the concert site the day of the show.

We didn't even get off the freeway yet before I saw dozens and dozens of scalpers standing on the side of the offramp and waving tickets in the air. was desperate to sell! As soon as the gates opened I saw one fella with a dozen tickets just toss them in the air in disgust. So my brother and I decide to use his and go to the concert, which was my first (I was 17). I still have one of the unused tickets today.

Scalpers didn't hurt attendance. It took so long to get in that Derringer was just completing his set, then a 45 minute wait for the Zep to come out.
