The Simpsons S08E23 Homer's Enemy - Frank Grimes

In an edition of "Kent's People", Kent Brockman tells the story of Frank Grimes, a man who "had to struggle for everything he got in life." After seeing the show, Springfield Nuclear Power Plant owner Mr. Burns is so touched that he asks Smithers to hire Grimes as his Executive Vice President.

The best part is, Homer could definitely have touched those electrical wires without any injury, because he's Homer Simpson.

I love how touched and gratified Mr. Burns is that Homer just basically copied the existing plant.

This was actually pretty smart of Homer. He copied the current plant with only minor modifications, knowing Mr. Burns wouldn't really want any major changes to the plant.

I love how EVERYONE. Literally everyone is just so confounded by Grimes' hatred of Homer. Like Mr. Burns of all people is just there on stage confused by Grimes outburst.

Cool detail how Smithers compliments Ralph's power plant specifically because it is a Malibu Stacy doll house (smithers being a big Malibu stacy fan).

I think what I love most about this scene is that to Burns, Homer IS a child. Plus Homer finally getting recognized for something at work and clearly being proud of himself.

I love how Mr. Burns is pretty brutal to the children, but when Homer has his turn he’s all gentle and encouraging 😂

For no real reason this just happens to be the first time Burns doesn't treat Homer like a complete nincompoop, and it pushes Grimes over the edge. That's life, I guess.

Yeah, I bet he was wishing he was Homer when he got electrocuted. Homer would've lived
