Hi, I wanted to give you a shout out and to let you know how your simple box planter plan was used for a great cause. I volunteer for Habbitat for Humanity in Dutches County NY. Because I woodwork for a hobby, they asked me for an idea to utilize donated wood for a project to be given to new habitat home owners. They suggested a window box. I discovered those would be somewhat cumbersome to be utilized for all homes and I looked in to your site for ideas (I’m a subscriber to your channel). The idea I used was the simple square planter to be used on porches. I did a simple mock up for them and they loved it. We then partnered with a local Boces and their construction teacher bought in to the idea of having his students make them. The donated wood came from the 2018 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree! The students made 64 boxes and learned new woodworking techniques and about community service and giving back to others. It was a great experience. Also, each. box had the burned in date stamp from when the tree was originally up at Rockefeller center. Sorry for the long post…

I love the planter stairs! I want to build some for my soon-to-be-built new back porch so will make them narrower. But Ill need 4 steps. Do you have suggestions for building the next 2 higher steps - best way to make them strong and sound? Any chance this could be a shelf-help project? Love your channel - you are my hero!
