Did you know Barbara Mandrell mastered 13 instruments by the age of 13? And did you know her 1984 car accident led to temporary personality changes due to brain trauma?

This video chronicles the rise of country-pop pioneer Barbara Mandrell, alongside her singing sisters Louise and Irlene, who together hosted a defining 1980s TV variety series. It explores how a gifted child steel guitar prodigy evolved into an entertainment powerhouse, blending musical styles and dazzling audiences on tour and on their hit NBC show, Barbara Mandrell & the Mandrell Sisters.

Just as Barbara was dominating the charts and venues with her elaborate concerts and hits like “Sleeping Single in a Double Bed,” tragedy struck in 1984 when a car crash nearly killed her. We examine how Barbara persevered through her devastating injuries and how her decision to file a controversial lawsuit afterward strained her relationship with fans.

The video also delves into why Barbara chose to retire in 1997 despite her ongoing popularity as a headliner. It traces the lasting impact of the Mandrells’ career through current tributes and the continued performing activities of sisters Louise and Irlene Mandrell, keeping the family’s musical legacy alive. Tune in for the definitive profile of country music game-changers Barbara, Louise, and Irlene Mandrell!

I'm one of Barbara's biggest fans. All I can say about this video is "they did get a few things right". She didn't quit the TV show because of a mental meltdown, she had to give up due to her doctor told her she had damaged her vocal cords. If she didn't quit, she would damage her vocal cords forever. Barbara was the #1 entertainer, and she could show some of these new opry ladies a thing or two. The new ladies at the opry don't even sing real country music. Barbara has class even today and she will always have it.

I loved the Barbara Mandrell show and to see all three sisters acting, playing, singing together. But, my favorite sister was Louise Mandrell. I’m just not a big blond favorite, I prefer a good brunette, brown, or black haired girl. And Louise had legs that reach from here to there, all the way to there. Got to see Louise w/Ronnie Milsap concert in Austin Texas back in 1982. back there!!!

In her book she said the driver fell asleep, not that he was drunk.

Barbara and her sisters were much more talented than those I see today. They sang true music that those of all ages could appreciate!

Louise and Irlene are from Corpus Christi, not Houston. Barbara is from Houston, Texas.

Salacious clickbait on one of the classiest ladies in the music and television industry; don’t waste your time on this or any other “confirms what we already knew” videos. This video deserves a place in the same trash can as all copies of the National

Back in mid-1970’s, my father worked with Ms Mandrell in volunteering and supporting the Alabama Sheriff and Children Ranch. Our family spent time with her family one Christmas season in Snowmass, Colorado. She was so kind, giving, smart, a very genuine person. What a pleasure to get to know her and her family!
‘She was country, when country wasn’t cool”❤️😎

Love Barbara and her sisters. Saw Louise in Pigeon Forge years ago and got her autograph and spoke with her for several minutes, she was so sweet.
