I commented on another (funny!) video and learned what the generation between the Greatest Generation and Boomers was named. My parents were the Silent Generation. ALL my siblings are/were Boomers. I came along as an oopsie Gen X. I can’t believe 60 is getting so close. I had big hair, turned up collars and parachute pants just yesterday it feels…

Anyway, I love your portrayals of Gen X. I feel seen! Keep it up. 😊

Gen X raised by Silent here, with two Boomer older siblings. And yeah, I'm definitely Gen X, but there are BIG areas of overlap in terms of upbringing.

I'm in the Xennial bracket. Literally the end of 1980. My husband is late 1968 and definitely Gen X. My parents were mid-Boomer, his parents were mid/late Silent 1938 and early Boomer 1946. We had similar upbringings, and yet neither of us (nor anyone we're friends with) use the casual violence of our parents. Split lips, bruises and beatings were a way of life for most raised by Silent/Boomer. You were happier when they forgot you even existed-- you might not always have food available, but you didn't get beat up. Gen X rarely carries that violence and neglect through in their lives. My husband absolutely will fight, but you have to push him far beyond just the casual comments that set our parents off. I'm even slower to fight and try to be the peacemaker. The differences between most Boomers and Gen X are typically very stark (though of course a 1964 X is not particularly different from a 1963 Boomer). There needs to be socially far more attention paid to micro generations, as I think we really show the weird blend that happens, and I feel blessed to have had that analog childhood and digital teen-hood.

I really don't understand why boomers are given such a hard time? I was born in '82 but I guarantee that 20+ years from now that the young generation will be going on about how all millennials are a "bunch of Karen's" or whatever lol
