Is the Mpk MiniPlay 3 Worth It?

A video review & comparison of the AKAI Mini Play MK3 vs the Mini. I'll show you how to use it, some key features, pros, & cons. At $150, it's one of the most affordable MIDI controllers with built-in sounds & speaker. Also, it can be used as a portable keyboard. However, the general MIDI sounds are a bit dated but you can modify them using the parameters. I'll give it an overall score of 80%. What do you think?

I almost bit on the mini play a couple of years ago. It looks better but they could have at least added a looper if they weren't going to add a sequencer.

Hey man, great video!! I bought an Akai Mini Play mk3 and a Midiplus usb midi host to midi control a Korg electribe 2, but I can't send midi signals. Do you know if this configuration is compatible? I really need help!! Thank you in advance

Buzzing could be a ground loop between the audio and USB - seems like Akai should have fixed that, at least between two pieces of their own gear

Stupid question: Are there sounds already in the unit or do you have to load them from the computer? I’m looking for a regular drum kit plus the congas and bongos and stuff like the clap sound.
