I've heard a lot of histories of elder people that lived the 1960's 9.5 earthquake, and it's terrifying. And old man told me that the cars in the streets jumped during the earthquake and fell (inverted) over another cars, or that little mountains just emerged from the ground. The earthquake lasted +10 minutes so it must have been like an apocalypse for people in that time.

I'm from Valdivia. There are still deformed houses because of the earthquake, and some of them are almost buried under the ground after all this decades. They are considered cultural patrimony. I wasn't alive in 1960, but my grandmother was, and she remembers how one of the waves in the calle-calle river sent a boat flying, "literally".

My grandfather was in that earthquake in Valdivia in 1960 and he lived to tell about it. A great man.

Chile's Valdivia earthquake was so big that after this one, it came the Tsunami that crossed all The Pacific Ocean and caused damage and decease in Australia, Hawaii, Japan and even the waves reached Alaska and African Eats Coast, and, of course, the all American west coast. A whole small town named Corral disappeared and now is under the sea and close to it, where there were just sea, now there is land, and new Corral town is located there. It also created a salty lake with sea wate, where there wasn't any lake.

The funny thing is that Chile lies in "the belt of fire", therefore there are always earthquakes of slight magnitudes, but for us it is a "small tremor".

In 1950, my state Assam in India faced a major earthquake of 8.6 magnitude. This earthquake created multiple lakes and hills in Assam. Also the Brahmaputra river rose high which caused massive floods. Flood waves were as high as 23 ft(remember it's a river, not ocean). This earthquake changed the topography of Assam.

Les faltó el sismo con magnitud 8.1 que azotó las costas mexicanas en 1985 y que devastó a más de la mitad de la capital: la Ciudad de México.
Uno de los más fuertes y destructivos en la historia, también.

I'm from Indonesia, the island of East Java, here it's very peaceful and cool and there are also frequent rainstorms accompanied by strong winds

As a guy who lives on Chile, i can say that we had a lot of earthquakes in our history, so many that now we just get bothered about them instead of scared and we try to save the furniture around us lmao
