Just so everybody knows...that’s normal and every tie rod will move like that. The only way to check for a bad tie rods is with to tire and wheel on the car. I just couldn’t go about my day without saying something.

The clunking was probably something sway bar related.

That’s probably the noise I hear on my 2020 Prius. It happens everytime I hit the brake or let go of the brake pedal. But the noise is very similar

Also in general everyone. Remember that if theres a grease fitting to try adding grease to something
Before you go replacing the part. I've seen first hand where a few pumps of a grease gun have stopped clunking and removed play in parts

Try tightening the nut that joins the outer tie rod to the inner, it’s moving and looks loose

It's supposed to do that bro, that means your rubber bushing is doing its job.

I hear a loud clunk from the rear when I come to a complete stop. My buddy thinks it's my suspension that needs to be greased, but I'm not sure.

My toyota matrix makes a clunking noise when breaking and uneven roads. When I got my tires replaced the people there told me that the inner tire rods were loose could that be the case?

Thats normal.. tie rods are meant to be able to move like that.

On kia's this isn't normal, sometimes you would hear a clunk sometimes you won't, most people saying it is normal when on Kia and Hyundai that play makes alot of noise when braking, even though the tie rod has no play
