Hi, my experience has been in Clean Energy finance (enabling skills for clean energy) research and designing innovative financial instruments and almost at the end of PhD in Finance (focussed in climate change) from Australian Uni (fully funded industry PhD) and working for an Energy Financd think tank. Previous background is MBA and Btech (Electronics and Instrumentation) ...any hope for PR as per current priority for clean energy and enabling sectors push?

Great points of view mate. Agree, the lists need to be merged. Also the issue with truck drivers, the shortage is in B-double license holders. They are the trucks that pull two or more trainers. I’m that situation you need to have held the previous class licences prior before you can move into that class. I used to own a heavy vehicle driving school. I hope that helps 🙂

When will they just let truck drivers in, the skills test should be that they should be qualified from a country that has the same rules of the road with at-least 3 years experience and also pass a test in Australia. I’ll happily go to Australia tomorrow and pay for all the training myself

Amazing content! May I ask, I have recently lodge an EOI for 190 visa in South Australia and under Skill Assessment Section (first question) to nominate an occupation, does that answer fill my current occupation I am nominating for the visa or the qualification/occupation which was skilled assessed? Current occupation, Production Engineer but skill assessed positive for Chemical Engineer. Appreciate your response Karl!

Im a mechanical engineer but i can able to get metal fitter, machinist, production and industrial assessment. for now i have only mechanical engineer assessment with 80 points for 189, waiting for the invite
