It's Olympian Yusra Mardini and her sister's story. I know the film will streamline a few bits, but mostly it's all real and raw - I haven't seen the film obviously, but I researched her story for a project, and the sisters literally swam for hours to bring their boat to shore. I am not a swimmer, but even I know that swimming in a heated pool in proper gear is a completely different experience to swimming in the freezing open sea, wearing normal clothes, and maybe even extra layers that all weigh you down. These sisters are heroes and I am so glad their story is coming light at last.

I am so happy this story is finally finding a platform. A real life greek hero's ballad, Yusra and her sister are phenomenal women and I can't wait for their story to be heard loud and clear!

when I heard about their story in the radio in Greece I was still a student. I won't forget how my mom broke down in tears and there was silence... these two girls gave voice to so many people and inspired us to fight for refugee rights! Since then when I feel tired of different issues that make life feel hard I think of what they did and I feel so strong! Not only they did not give up, the fought to save lives! I "swim" stronger in life because of their example

How strong are these people that kept their breams alive through the hardship. How great are the people that embraced these strangers and gave them a second chance!

A big salute to the sisters for their tremendous courage in the face of difficulty. I can't even imagine how difficult it must be to leave your own country and swim to another by yourself, to swim in the freezing temperatures with your clothes pulling you down and yet pushing not just yourself but an entire boat of people.

This movie was so moving and so inspiring. It’s a must see. It’s horrible that people have to go through this. I’m glad she followed her dream in the midst of all that.

This is the movie. This is why we should watch movies. This is the reason Netflix should exist. You better keep bringing out what touches our hearts like this. I can’t stop sobbing and shrieking. Can’t wait!

For me as a German, this film once again showed me what great work we and our politics had done back in 2015/16 (and still do). It makes me kinda proud and I can only imagine how many lifes we have safed. There shouldn't be closed borders nowhere in the world anymore. Such a moving film. I think that everyone should watch it once. They should talk about this at schools.

You know how good it is when you cry just from watching the trailer (And as an Arab person who remembers how that nightmare began 💔)
