Nigeria Builds "Ghost" Airports With No Passengers As Economic Troubles Persist | Firstpost Africa

West African nation of Nigeria is witnessing a severe economic crisis. Its people are burdened by surging prices of food, fuel and other essential items. President Bola Tinubu has been facing heavy criticism for his economic reforms. Though the government is borrowing more money to tackle this crisis, its priorities seem to be misplaced. Nigeria is on an airport building spree. But the most important element stands missing from its airports: the passengers! The rise in number of airports in Nigeria is starkly at odds with air passenger traffic. Watch this video for details.

The worst part of it is that Ogun state that has the worst set of roads in Nigeria also built an airport which only had 1 aircraft landing on it since it was commissioned several months ago
Lagos state that is riddled with horrible roads is building an airport in lekki sinking millions of dollars into the sea and yet some silly Nigerians won't stop calling you names because you said it doesn't worth it

Every man has value. A single man can change everything if God is with him. Prayers for Nigeria... and all her men to stand up and be righteous... To stand up and save their country... Stand up!

They are indeed lots of airports in Nigeria. The federal and state governments own them. The economy in Nigeria is not doing well so I do not know why we need so many airports.

Nigerians must learn from us South Africas🇿🇦. They must hold their government accountable and stop running to SA if things are not running smooth in their country.

Nigeria borrows money to pay National assembly members year on Nigerian lawmakers are the highest paid lawmakers in the world, even more than the USA
They earn #36million monthly and the government buys them a #150million SUV each per senators and representatives
80% of Nigerian resources goes to them while leaving the masses impoverished
I blame the countries and organisations borrowing them this money, cause they do not use these loans for a positive cause
They keep handing out these loans to them just to waste it on greedy and unproductive politicians.

It's fascinating to observe the coverage of Nigerian news on both Firstpost and Wion TV YouTube channels, two prominent Indian TV channels. The active involvement of many Nigerians in contributing to both channels indicates their support for news reporting on Nigeria. Hopefully, in the future, Nigerian news channels won't face criticism for covering events in India. We are eagerly observing how future events will unfold.
