As a young woman I had a necessary complete hysterectomy. From that point on I was super healthy. I was 31 years old. I couldn’t get insurance because the system said I had a “preexisting condition”. It was laughable…because my condition was gone…. So I paid for my annual medical checkup and hoped that nothing else would happen. It wasn’t until Medicare came into being that I could get/afford healthcare. PLEASE STOP THE going back!!!

In Canada people don't have to worry about health care. It's funded by our taxes and everyone is covered.I recently had an eye problem, a scratched cornea, and went to the hospital.I was intaked, waited a brief time, saw a doctor who gave me steroid eyedrops, and left.I didn't have to pay for anything. In the States, I was in Florida in 1983, got bad sunburn, went to the hospital and they wouldn't even see me without paying $50 first.I said no, bought some skin creme and lived with my sunburn for a few days.Medical treatment should be a right, not a profit scheme for hospitals.

I have Leukemia. A survivable leukemia. However, if they decide to put me in that super high risk pool I will have to some how make the decision between destroying my family's economic stability or dying.
