From a recent Live Q&A (Every Wednesday 12:30pm live HERE)
When you have an addiction, you need to do certain things to overcome it. First, you need to admit you have a problem. Then you game plan for the support you need to get clean and stay clean. It’s one of the greatest advantages to my 6 Week Rapid Recovery Group, is daily accountability and support, as well as coaching and problem solving to overcome the triggers, the moods and the thoughts they feed the addiction so you can overcome it, get healthy, and feel good about yourself!
With food addiction, even one bite will keep the cravings and desire HIGH, and eventually you will want to give in. Whereas after about a month without your food-like-drugs of choice, your cravings will improve and eventually go away and be replaced with cravings for the good stuff.

Thank you for this video. I figured this out for myself and now am trying to spread the word. This video summarises it all in a succinct, coherent format for people. I can share this with everyone.

I was addicted to cheese like crazy and I mean it. How I cured my addiction? I had seen what happens to animals and I connected to their pain - stopped all my animal food intake. You always kill something in the process, there is no perfection, you kill rats, bugs, spiders etc but not eating animals is at least what I can do in this life.

I think there are different degrees of addiction and faster/slower paths to overcoming it. Dr. G makes it sound as if this a horrible struggle for everyone, but my experience tells me that I need to be *only a few days* off a certain food, and the craving goes away. True, it'll come back if I fall off the wagon, but stopping it is then easier, because now I can control my own habits. I was addicted to bread, cheese, chocolate, pastries.... Now, there is no draw. None. (Yuck) 🙂 I hope this is encouraging for those who are just "a little" addicted :-)

What happens when you’re addicted to all food except for low carb proteins and low carb vegetables?? Or is that a different issue?? If not because of candida overgrowth then I’m an end stage food addict who is addicted to most foods..
Problem is because I have hypothyroidism and CFIDS, I feel deathly ill when I try and only meat and veg so I don’t know what to do 🤷🏻‍♀️

I love avocado toast made with sourdough. It's so tragic that sourdough is a processed food!

Well, I assume *some* food addictions are just fine: for example, being addicted to your hyper-nourishing green smoothies! 🙂
