[MUC++] Dave Steffen - 'Empirical Unit Testing' (Virtual)

We all know that unit testing is one of the foundations of modern software develpment. We all know what qualities our unit tests should have, such as "don't depend on whether the server is up" and "use only the public interface". But why *these* qualities? Are there underlying principles behind the guidelines for our testing procedures? This talk will propose some partial answers to these questions, based on what we have learned from nearly 350 years of empirical science.
