Our extinction will be complicated. Only time will tell. If it happens, document what we have done wrong and launch our failures as a warning to other(potential) civilizations. That may then be the best we can do..

What about the increasing methane release from the earth, in the oceans, lands, areas where methane is released through natural processes?

David Spratt says that 3° of warming is an existential threat to human civilization, but also says that is not the same as extinction of all the human species. This prompts the question that when global temperatures "catch up" to 400ppm and the +3°C is reached, what then is likely to be a sustainable number for Earth's population ( ± 1 billion) in the radically altered global habitat?

around 16 when the speaker says our gas emission is already enough to produce such a world (+4° climate condition+SLR) my understanding is that is we are way, way, way beyond that. Our emissions is unseen for a long long long time of our planet earth history.

Great presentation but having faith people will wake up to the situation so we can deal with this issue is wildly optimistic. You state that you cant see fighting against capitalism but as we don't have the technology limiting growth is all we can do. 1 Child policy, consume less and redial 60 to 75% of our resources to climate change, restoring ecology and adapting to the planet by its very nature will end capitalism. That is a primary reason we don't change as the path forward requires a permanent at least in the near term shrinking of the economy which will cause its collapse.

A comment and a question.
Comment: I do not think the WWII example applies to this. Back then the governments and the major companies got fully behind the effort. In climate change they are fighting as hard as possible against doing anything helpful.
Question: We have known about this problem for decades. Not all super rich people or major companies are stupid. And those that are hire very smart people to explain things to them. So we can't reasonably say that governments and companies don't understand the situation. The only logical conclusion is that the do understand but still choose to fight against doing anything to help. So the question becomes why?

what i m the most afraid of is to see the BOE within my lieftime. Indeed, i do think, non science backed, that on that day we will suffer full scale of our actions and it will a crazy, brutal, fatal tipping for now we are still lucky that the cold is dissipating in atmosphere... event though it creates floods etc.

he is making a major mistake: with the huge probles to come and already locked in, for people to move and accept the sacrifices that need to be taken, fear (and the situation is fearful) is the only way. he speaks about 2nd world war.. fear was the main driver. no other. no fear no profond change. thats human nature.
