To me the MDX is too small for a third row. Acura needs something bigger in their lineup for three rows.

I wish manufacturers would just completely get rid of piano black.
It just scratches so easily. 😑

You said it has 19 speakers. Wrong. It is 31 in your type s

I have a ‘23. Wish in the type S, they would eliminate the 3rd row and give me a slightly larger fuel tank. Only gets 280 miles on a full tank.

I'm afraid at this point they just want people to get used to hearing these prices... $76k for an MDX is criminal 😅

Awesome suv for what it is. I love mine, but most reviewers forget it's not a luxury brand like BMW or Mercedes, just like BMW and Mercedes is not like rolls Joyce and buggatti...Acura is premium brand means more than Honda products and first in America before Lexus or infinity. I love Honda products and love that now I make more money I can buy more premium Honda products including my Integra, rdx and mdx

Lifetime Honda/Acura guy. Like I've owned more than I can count. So hardcore is the fanboyism that I have a Del Sol in the garage next to the Luxobarge V8 Merc Cabrio, and favor it most of the time. We have been considering replacing the family-vacation-tripping Palisade with something that has a little more get-up-and-go. After finally finding a Type S in the gorgeous Tiger Eye Pearl, I finally went and drove one.

And boy. Was. I. Under. Whelmed.

TO be fair, the brakes are good. Very good. Probably too good.

The interior fit and finish are no better than the Pilot, and plastics, controls and touch surfaces feel cheap.

The seats are narrow and short, not for big American shoulders and bellies. And I could forgive maybe a little of that, if when I put my foot to the ground, that it said "Hello, I've got a Turbo, and we're gonna go show zee Zhurmmmans what a Honda with can do." And it didn't. It did nothing. I double checked the shift modes and logic. Nada. What a turd.

We promptly returned and hopped into a current gen GLS 450 (that's the intro tier folks with the straight 6), to see what the market was doing. Placing the Merc on the on-ramp, and planting my foot, the monstrous SUV rocketed forward with immediate torque and pedigree. This is the Bro-Dozer-Passing family truckster that was a Renntech tune away from being more fun than anything with such mediocre brakes should be on the interstate.

The MDX Middle row avoids luxurious captains with heat/cool/massage options in favor of a transforming bench, which has no head room, no leg room, no shoulder room, and no business calling itself a three row. This is maybe a GLE 350 competitor and needs to ditch the wholly useless 3rd row in favor or a proper 2nd row space for the brats. Cargo room is equally useless, especially if the "armrest" is in the "trunk".

Acura's prior MDX generation, which we owned, was a very practical family hauler. This new thing is a mildly stretched TLX, that needs a complete ECU and TCU reprogram, and about 80 ft/lbs more torque from launch to shift, to be even remotely interesting.

I am WILDLY disappointed.

Piano black is the biggest mystery in automotive history. The gap between the universal hatred and car manufacturers not giving a damn is astounding.

I wish Acura would bring back a non plug in hybrid version of this SUV. For those of us who have to occasionally make 350-450 mile trips without wanting to stop or suffering any range anxiety (yes us ICE drivers also have this affliction). Not to mention the benefit of running the HVAC for a bit while the engine is off plus the additional torque provided. Yes I know there is Lexus RX and now TX (since non plug in hybrid category) but the Honda has historically been a more spirited driving experience w better AWD.

In my humble opinion the real advantage to the 3.0 liter turbo V6 over the naturally aspirated 3.5 V6 is the 3.0liter Turbo does NOT have cylinder deactivation. If you want to keep a car long term never buy a vehicle with with any type of cylinder deactivation.

Glad they kept the exterior design and get rid of the infotainment pad. Great positioning in the market considering Honda/Acura reliability.

I love the fit and finish of these vehicles. I just wish it offered more performance, I'm still content with my Edge Sport as far as how it's equipped and performance.

The MDX is more cool minivan than SUV. 75k for a not full luxury but an upscale family hauler is crazy. National average household income for 2024 is 74k. To show how much Inflation has destroyed the middle class in 1965 National Avg Household was 6900 and a new Buick sports wagon with the upscale "Custom" trim was 3, 250

$76k for a tight fitting 3 row Acura is insane to me. Vehicle prices have become insane. Especially SUV and truck prices! Take me back to the glory days, PLEASE!!!

You asked about a spare. Acura has been selling an add-on spare for a while now ( have one on my 22 RDX ). Clearly this is the case for this MDX, as it has the pop out under the floor cover where the spare tire is released.
