4,000 Hours Later - How to be "Good" at Satisfactory
--- Read More Below ---

Welcome back to another Update 5 Satisfactory video, today I thought we'd change it up and look at how I got to where I am now, with Satisfactory. Looking at my past builds.... so this could be cringey.

About: Satisfactory

Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Pioneering for FICSIT Incorporated means charting and exploiting an alien planet, battling alien lifeforms, creating multi-story factories, entering conveyor belt heaven, automating vehicles, and researching new technologies.
This Factorio like game has heavy automation, with automated mining, crafting, and you can even automate movement!

Seeing how terrible my first save was, does that reassure you, that you can achieve anything you want to?

This video is giving me the courage to start over in my world, there are currently so many things I want to remake because of updates, plan changes and simple convinience, however I did not want to redo all the grind that led to the point I'm at now. But now I am ready for it

Holy hell, you “mess” looks so neat comparing to the neatest my factory has ever gotten, although mine was made purely for production, not ever neatness

As a new player, the game felt a bit overwhelming. This video felt overwhelmingly overwhelming just by looking at the "end" result. The thing is, I enjoy it a ton so I will, somehow, work on recreating even a fraction of what you did. Hats off, and thanks for your valuable videos on this title!

I'm only 2 months (170 hours) in but I'm really enjoying the journey. I spent maybe 80-90 hours on my first save, was scared to start over but I'm glad I did. I feel like I've gotten more organized, more creative and more experimental. Thanks for sharing your journey, makes me wanna play more!

As Stated in the video, some part of getting good at building comes down to talent.
But to the aspiring builders out there, having Talent doesn't mean you're good from the get go, Talent just means you progress *faster*.
Anyone, talent or not, can become good with the right mindset and the proper time put in.
So just keep on playing, keep on building, you'll get there soon enough.

Thank you for this video. I started playing in 2020 during the pandemic and swiftly got over whelmed with how small my brain felt while playing this game. My best friend showed me his world and i got really depressed because I could never achieve that. I'm trying it out again and learning as much as I can. This (hopefully) will help me to not be too hard on myself because it's just a game...

i have 1030 ish hours now and have started over easily 30 or 40 times. I have made many worlds and deleted many as well and yes...perfecting yourself comes with time. Much like good music production you eventually find your own style and rhythm or even "genre" you fit with. It eventually turns into an entire world like Amelie of The Sea for example.

Love your stuff man.

I hope to send you the world i am working on one day!

I recently restarted again, and even after restarting I changed my mind how I wanted to do logistics and modular builds. I am currently in the process of dismantling and rebuilding on a world that I already put another 100 hours again. I have been keeping some of your tutorial building tips in mind, from making rigs out of nodes, to trains and busses. Keep on being an inspiration!

I just love your builds, man. Inspirational. I am only 300 hours in, starting on my first megafactory. It’s been great watching your stuff as I progress.

Here's the thing about continuing saves and starting new worlds. I feel that starting a fresh world and doing the grind and unlocking researches all the way up to the point you can start building good stuff again, is more of a hassle and a time sink that just building a huge number of storage containers and deconstructing your entire factory and everything you've built. You can store all the items you get and it's basically the same as having a new world to play with except now you've got all the hub upgrades done and all the Ficsit Store stuff, and you'll have a heap of building material ready to go for starting your new build.

Oh this is gold!! This reflects exactly how people change during their playthroughs. I love it that you still have the old saves, showing us the madness you had! I mean, I was there in the underground build, with the fastest way to transport things. But I like the way you have developed. It is a trip down memory lane!

I'm always amazed by the variety and creativity of the architecture that people come up with in Satisfactory. I tend to stick to Brutalist boxes and focus more on making things work rather than making them look pretty. My current factory (videos on my let's play channel) is one square kilometre of flat foundations covered in tower blocks dedicated to a single item each. I've recently come to the conclusion that, even though I've not filled my square km yet, I'll need more space in other locations in order to make everything.
I'm currently working on my iron rod production, each floor of the tower has 16 constructors fed by a Mk3 belt of iron ingots. I have TWELVE floors to build to reach full capacity, I've only done two so far. It's a lot of work.

This video is so refreshing man! I'm in your named "6th factory" kinda phase, trying to organize things up from what I've learned in previous saves, so I can say the learning curve is still goin on for me! Your builds are truly inspiring, and it is with great joy that I see your videos and wanted to thank you for them 🙏

i play satisfactory extremely causally and haven't gotten past tier 3-4 really, but I think the message of this video speaks to more than just players. With anything in life, the goal should be enjoying the process instead of the outcome. A nice quote I like to remember is 'The man who loves to run will run much farther than the man who likes the destination.' I think a good mindset for anyone with a goal is just to enjoy the process. Lovely video btw <3

Thank you for this. I've just hit 60 hrs (1 week irl) and am feeling a bit overwhelmed and unskilled. This has reasured me that starting over, learning slow and sticking with it is where I want to be going

OMG I love your factories! They're so aesthetic :) I just came back to the game after a long break and never progressed past spaghetti factories the first time I played. The quality of your builds gives me something to aspire to - Thanks!
