This is why it's dumb to associate yourself with any label. Conservative, liberal, republican, democrat... you should align yourself with ideas and concepts. Not groups, brands, or organizations. It's ok to endorse them, and to work with the ones you most closely align with, but you shouldn't make them part of your identity.

I'm surprised that anyone thought Ana was on the "Left", whatever that means in America. Ana never had an ideological grounding and could never be expected to have a thoughtful view of the world around her. One's ideological position cannot be shifted by personal obstacles one encounters with colleagues. It was no surprise to me that Ana was too keen to see some positives in some of the things the far right was doing (i.e. the Biden administration). It demonstrated her shallow analytical ability, making her vulnerable to some of the machinations of particularly the right. Yes, Biden is far right on global affairs. TYT's allegiance to the Democratic Party is another handicap.

She seems not to grasp the nature of the beast we are dealing with (maintaining the malign global hegemon status; the primacy of the state as an instrument to restrain the people rather than the people restraining the state; maintenance of corporate control of all social institutions and cultural life; etc.). This form of government invariably leads to fascism and minority rule and she seems enamored by individual variations in the system rather than providing us with an alternate view of how to not get lost in the machinations of the system. Maybe that's too much to ask of a "news" source?

At least Sabby is consistent in her analysis of the system and helps us cut through the crap that it throws at us from time to time, without turning us into mindless conspiracy theorists looking at ghosts around every morsel thrown at us.

I used to watch TYT because they were kind of the only high-quality independent progressive news show years ago. Now there’s just such better quality shows available and there are so many. I’m also very tired of hearing about Trump. It doesn’t feel like they’re getting into the depths of the issues like they used to. It’s either that other shows have become more available and are doing better work or their work is suffering, but I just don’t seek them out anymore.
