It's a team sport, played by individuals. Owen Farrell's role as England's captain and goalkicker means the spotlight is always on - and it has been shining brighter than ever as he has closed in on the points scoring record set by England icon Jonny Wilkinson.

This week's episode takes you into the team dressing room after Saturday's win against Samoa as Owen talks about what breaking the record means to him, and his team-mates and coaches discuss his influence and impact on the squad.

If you listen to what every player (O’Connell, Sexton, AWJ and countless others) say about Farrell you’ll hear nothing but positives for how he carries himself as an athlete. England are lucky to have him.

Congratulations Owen Farrell. A hugely successful career and the perfect record to cap it off. Always very humble when it comes to his own achievements but this one is massive! My best wishes for you and the rest of the team and I pray you can get your hands on the one trophy you are missing. Come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

I’m welsh and have a huge amount of respect for Owen Farrell - he’s been a fantastic leader for England

The only nice thing about seeing all the hate towards him is knowing it doesnt bother him one bit. Lions dont concern themselves with the opinions of sheep.

Legend of the game. Hope he goes into coaching.

Owen is a fucking legend, and im getting sick of fans with short -term memories. He's been a brilliant player and leader for us for years and you'll miss him when he's gone. Grow up and support us instead of hating on our captain.

So frustrating the hate this guy gets. Absolute servant to the game and always pivotal to the success of this team. World class operator

been watching him since 2012, he was on fire in the white wash series win against Australia in 2016, and a great leader in 2019 rwc.

I know he gets a lot of stick and bad press but there is no doubt that the way Owen speaks and conducts himself on and off the pitch is a huge credit. The willingness to push other people and expect others to do the hard stuff, as well as showing by example is a great trait. Good leader and when other great leaders talk about him, they hold him in high regard. I'm sure there are plenty more points to be added to the tally too.

Sad to watch this back now knowing how much he was struggling mentally but just shows how incredible a player he really is!

Good to see an episode focusing on Faz and what he has achieved. The haters can hate as much as they want but he is fully devoted to his team and team mates to do the best they can do for their country. Keep up the good work. (It would have been good if the episode showed his whole speech!)

Tbh im glad Farrell made that mistake with the shot clock in this game than a knockout, hopefully hes learned his lesson as clearly they didnt train for that timing.

Farrell has been a great servant for England rugby. He will make a great coach to me. I think hes been afforded quite a few opportunities based more on his influence than his form, i can only hope he has good leadership over the knockouts. England will need it.
