Pat is amazed that not everyone is a workaholic just like him.

Its not even about being lazy or lack of work ethic. Its ridiculous that we have to take time off from work to do things like go to the DMV, the dentists or your family doctor. I'm all for a 4 day 10 hour work week. I'll even do 12 hour days. That extra day off would be a game changer.

People are tired. That’s part of the reason there is so much anger in this country. A 4 day workweek would really lighten the load for so many people. You’re definitely speaking for yourself on this one.

I think this is the first video I disagreed with on this channel. I have worked both 5 8s and 4 10s. I was absolutely depressed when I switched from 4 10s to 5 8s. I felt like I never had time to do anything. I had to take paid time off of work to go to the doctor or do other weekday activities. When I changed jobs and went back to 4 10s, it made a big impact on my happiness. I get to go camping and fishing all weekend with the kids. snowmobile trips. visiting people out of town. All without burning vacation days.

I work to live. I don't live to work.

As a former construction inspector we had to work whatever schedule the contractor set. Ive done just about every combo you can think of (5 8s, 4 10s, 5 10s, 6 8s, etc) and 4 10s were the best. 2 day weekends always feel too short, having that third day allows me to get stuff done that i normally wouldnt have time for!

I work in a warehouse and have 4 day work weeks. It really makes a difference with 3 days off.

Working 4 10s makes a huge difference in someone's life. Companies can just have some workers do mon-thurs and others tues-fri or whichever days to keep production up.

I am a retail pharmacist and I have worked four 10 hours shifts since the early 2000s. I love four 10s. Having the extra day off allows me to have a better work life balance. I have an extra day to do my house work and still have time to spend with my family.

The more Valuetainment I watch, the more it becomes apparent that Patrick won't be content until everybody is back in the mines working 7 days a week.

Your right about one thing. How do you define success? If its money & innovation then sure 4 days isn't best but if success means peace, stress free, and living your best life then probably not. I want to be able to enjoy the life I have with loved ones. I can always choose to work more for myself or others with a 4day work week.

4 day work week can allow you to start a side hustle that may eventually turn into a full time business.
I have my own business, so I personally would not be impacted by the 4 day work week. I think having an option to choose would be optimal.

I work in distribution, Monday-Friday. 5 am to 5 pm. I am completely burnt out and barely have any time to handle chores, errands, gym, I can barely spend time with my family. If I were blessed with a 4 day work week, I’d simply live life, rest, spend time with my family.

As a nurse practitioner, I have a four day work week but it is quite strange. I work a 12 hour shift Monday and Tuesday eight hours on Wednesday. I’m off on Thursday and I have an eight hour on Friday with weekends off and all national holidays. two weeks vacation I absolutely adore it.

I think what’s missing from the conversation is the type of work which can dictate whether it’s more or less efficient

Patrick, you’re a true conservative. You want to keep things as they are. It makes sense. The current model works.
But as an employee who values family over career (not saying that you don’t), a 4 day working week would make a huge difference.

“I really wish I worked more hours and spent less time with family” said no one on their death bed…

I would love to do a 4 day week. I've done it before when I used to do landscaping and I was much happier then

4 10 hour shifts feels way nice than 5 8 hours. That extra day, especially if they are all in a row, gives you so much freedom to live your life

I used to work 4 days out of the week. Having that extra day made a huge difference and I had more time for appointments, errands, chores and working on a side business doing real estate photography
