Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we’re going to be discussing the ELDER WAND-the most POWERFUL wand in the Harry Potter universe. Specifically, we’ll be tackling the question of whether or not the Elder Wand could ever be replicated. That is, if a wandmaker was given the right materials- could they make…ANOTHER Elder Wand?

Let’s dive in.

I still say The Peverils made the three hallows and The Tale of The Three Brothers was inspired by how each of them died. One from Violence, One from Heartbreak, and One from Old Age. But that the tale as a whole is a fictitious cautionary story for anyone who may follow in their footsteps.

It seems odd to me that no one ever tried to make a thestral core wand except one master wand maker. As with most things in the universe, there's just not enough information on why things are special to guess about it. It's just presented as high magic, and that's that.

With the right materials a skilled wand maker could fashion an elder wand. But would such a wand be capable of the incredible magic that the elder wand is able to perform? I’m not so certain.
While the elder wand is powerful, deadly, and produces results beyond what is generally thought possible of magic. But are these amazing things possible because of the wand’s construction and the materials it is made from? Or is its power a result of the wand passing from the hand of one powerful warlock to another for centuries?

I think what happened is that Death from the story was actually just a thestral, the brothers killed it, harvested the materials and used them to make the Hallows

The more pressing question is, can they ever unmake "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child?"

I still think Harry not fixing his broken wand and then snapping the elder wand at the end of the movie is one of the biggest transgressions compared to the books.

To quote Kaos Theory expert Ian Malcolm "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should." In this case magic users instead of scientists, and while they might be able to recreate it, they really shouldn't! Harry's decision to destroy the Elder Wand in the last movie was the better choice!

If the wizard that murdered Antioch in his sleep was death in disguise, then how did anybody ever win it from him?

You could make the exact same wand with the exact same materials, but you can’t replicate the immense power of the original wand.

One thing I have curious about since I read my 1st harry potter book is how do the wand makers get the core into the wand? Does Ollivander have a super long and thin drill bit on a drill press? Have the wands been sliced in half length-wise and a little bit chiselled out? Does he slice the tip off and stuff a unicorn hair into it and reseal the end? Such an important and earth-shattering question. I know i have too much time on my hands but I can't be the only muggle who has pondered this dilemma. Any answers to my query?

Whoever decided that Harry should snap the Elder Wand in half then throw it into the ravine was an absolute idiot, the special considering the fact that they did not have Harry fix his Holly wand with it

If liquid luck can be brewed then its very possible to recreate the Elder Wand and alternative versions of Horcruxes

I wonder if Elder Wand was jinxed. Being the most powerful but at a cost of death for the one who wields it.

I think you're quite correct on all counts. Yes, a skilled wand maker could indeed recreate the elder wand...or at least _an_ elder wand. But what kind of witch or wizard could indeed master it would be quite another thing "The wand chooses the wizard" after all.

They need to find a wizard who’s mother was a hamster and who’s father smelled of elderberries. Then they can make a new elder wand.

The story of the 3 Brothers is a story of the muggles and magic. If they choose the path of Grindlewald and Voldemort, coveting power, there will only be loss and death. If they choose the path of longing to be together, they would enjoy it for awhile, but ultimately it will lead to heartbreak and disappointment. However, if they choose the path of secrecy, they would live long lives and great death in their own time.

If the elder wand has the power to mend other wands why did Dumbledore never mend Rons wand?

I think what makes this wand so powerful is probably the fact it’s thestral’s core. Death itself. Every owner who dies it absorbs its essence. Like a warlock wand.

Or can they make an even better wand then The Elder Wand?
