I should have said this yesterday, but a good way to tell a cat "this is your litterbox" ESPECIALLY if you're trying a new litter is to put one of their poops in the new box, gross I know but it really works.

Word to the wise, you need to put a ridged plastic or rubber mat down on the floor to A. catch the extra litter, and B. for your cat to clean her claws with.

You may need to add something soft to cover those sharp corners of the flower depending on how she responds to it.

You should definitely put a litter mat(?) Under the stool or something or else you'll get litter pieces EVERYWHERE

So cute! I would do shelf liner on the walls, top and floor to catch any spray and protect the wood from absorbing odours. Easy for wipe down and way to replace.

We did the same for our cat except we used one half of the double sink. We took the doors off the one side and put up a curtain for her privacy. We made it for our original cat. When he sadly passed we just sanitized it and put the doors back on. I rescued a new kitten and we put it back into cat mode. Nice and cheap we just needed the curtain and the curtain rod and it's perfect. To clarify we used one of those shorter valence curtains to fit the spot better. We originally had one of those ribbed mats under because litter will get everywhere. We have since taken it out and just vacuum the floor more, so whichever option you pick is on your own preference of course <3

Reading through the comments I see a lot of people had the same idea as me to warn about the lack of litter mat 😂 makes me feel like I’m not alone in the pain of cleaning up around the litter box daily even with the mat. Now imagine without it 🫣

generally the best place to put a litter box is on the ground, uncovered, they usually don't like using covered litter boxes because they are more vulnerable while going to the bathroom, on top of that their vision is blocked and they just have one exit if something happens to attack them, which obviously won't happen in a household but they don't know that. it's not bad to have this one if you have an uncovered one already, she might actually like it since all cats are different 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is so cute! But she may have a hard time using it when she gets older. A lot of cats have trouble using litterboxes with high sides when they’re old because they get arthritis and bad joints and have trouble stepping over it

I’m sorry to break it to you but that litter box is way too small, in an uncomfortable place for the cat, and each cat needs two litter boxes, only if you don’t have space you can do one. I understand the need to make everything aesthetic, but when we adopt an animal in this day and age where they have no other habitat left due to human urbanization we should strive to make the cat the most comfortable and give them an optimal life which includes living space

Maybe rotate the door so the pointed part is not placed at the bottom center, but rather the rounded section of the flower. I wouldn't want to be scraped in the belly when trying to go to/from the bathroom....

That's actually very neat litterbox. It's hidden away and stylish. I have ADHD and if I can't see something I know I will forget about it so I can't get a similar one xD

About the shelf I think the space for her to jump around is too small, maybe that is why she is hesitant

that can’t be pleasant for her to get into, which is why i’m assuming you cut that part out. maybe don’t start with aesthetics with your cat as the afterthought?
