FIA raises the minimum floor height for ground effect cars and acts surprised when the cars can’t follow anyone.

This is what happens when you shorten DRS zones. The FIA did this in Bahrain as well and look what happened.

F1 organisers need to have a serious reflection of what they want their sport to become, a technology driven parade of fast cars, or a motorsport.

Perhaps shortening the DRS zone wasn't the best Idea?

The season is a write off 😭. The cars can't overtake anymore and Redbull have a jet engine in their car.

You can thank Mercedes for forcing Directive 39 that helped RB, screwed Merc and killed Ferrari.

They really just need to lower the cars back down again. It’ll give Ferrari their performance back making it more entertaining and the cars will be able to follow easier. Even with the lower ride height porpoising shouldn’t be a thing as they engineered it out

Red Bull when no one is challenging them.

In retrospect it now looks like it would have been better if floor ride height wasn't the first thing people thought about as a solution for porpoising. Something like suspension changes could work a bit better.

Ironic to that is that the team that was most vocal about raising ride height hasn't even improved as much and if anything it feels like the regulation changes even helped their competitor even more and now another team also leapfrogged them.

Don't get me wrong porpoising is the last thing this sport needs but had anyone knew this was gonna happen people would be more hesitant about simply raising ride height when the regulations revolved around the floor.

1. Slightly softer tires for tracks like Baku and Monaco (just add C6 tires)
2. Slipstream effect is weaker than in 2021 that's why Baku is so boring now, we need a longer DRS zone here
3. The racing is still actually closer than in 2021, cars can follow more easily but slipstream effect is weaker which makes some tracks actually worse than they were in 2021 (the ones without fast corners like Baku)

You can thank Toto Wolff and Mercedes for this. They couldn’t just “change their f*cking car” apparently.

couldn't have summed it up better

That's what happens when you change your new regulations to help one particular team that couldn't build a car properly...

We need smaller cars, lower ride height and active suspension to remove porpoising. Done.

Lower the damn floor and allow active suspension. Problem solved.

If you make rules so that ground effect cars lose a huge part of their ground effect you can't really be surprised that the racing gets worse.

You're exactly right. It's shocking. Tear it up. 500KG cars, 30 per cent smaller, V10's, sustainable fuel but maintain safety and the halo. Keep DRS that's fine, bring back re-fuelling.

And Baku is usually pretty good for racing. Hope Checo can keep up the pressure on Max throughout the season to at least get some kind of fighting.

Wel here you have the results of Toto’s lobbying to FIA about how porpoising is dangerous.

Is this all from the 15mm floor raise? Nerfed Ferrari and recreated dirty air in one fell swoop.
