Hard science makes it even more terrifying, but everything is still perceived through our human lens... If we happen to find and establish contact before I pass, I'm really curious about what would happen. Thanks again for your video; it got me thinking a lot!

I love this they know is "safe" there are others watching/hiding/searching. and they know they have to destroy us anyway because we know they are out there.

I wonder if the act of a group attacking another group on of itself would pose a threat of exposure to the greater dark forest.

It is odd that they didn't send a probe long ago.

Best way is not colonising Earth. Best way is purchasing Mars an teraform into a planet suitabile for trisolar people, and pay for Mars width advanced technology to repair Earth ecosistem and clear polution. AND then, togheter start Foundation for a galactic Federation. Even more, Trisolar could help humans to teraform Venus, who had perfect gravity for human biology
Game theory, always favor colaboration against war.

I understood that their advanced civilisations kept being destroyed and they had to start again. fair enough. surely either 1) the 3BP could have been solved into the short near future sufficiently to tell them to save stuff before dehydrating and 2) why couldn't they just go into space when the end of a civilisation era started...orbit for a bit and come back later when it was ok

I havent read the books but the show assumes that the aliens wont also advance during their journey. Or is it that they think humans are faster at developing technology in the 400 years?

They should just learn to terraform a moon or planet, with all that advanced technology and energy

Why didn't they just split the fleets up, one going to earth the other going to a different system like Alpha Centauri?

I don't understand they just didn't build a Dyson sphere/ring in the Barnard star system. Even if it didn't have any habitable worlds looks like they have the technology to create one.

So… they’re just jealous of how fast humanity can evolve and create things, because our society isn’t some kind of bureaucratic politic focused society, like theirs?

2:44 This doesn't make any sense. If the Trisolarians *did* find a habitable planet in the Barnard Star System, why not just move their civilization there since it's a shorter voyage? And then keep developing new technologies to stay ahead of humanity? Why would humanity necessarily surpass them if they could just keep advancing and ignore humanity?
