'BLACKMAIL' - POSTLAND meets....The James Whale Orchestra
Показать описание
POSTLAND joins forces with The James Whale Orchestra to create a new soundtrack to Alfred Hitchcock’s seminal 1927 thriller ‘Blackmail’. We will be performing the soundtrack at a lot of venues in The Netherlands and abroad, including a premiere at Leiden International Film Festival, EYE Amsterdam, Lantaren Venster Rotterdam, Filmhuis Den Haag, De Veereniging Nijmegen, Hoge Woerd Utrecht, Melkweg Amsterdam, Goede Rede Almere, Film by the Seas Vlissingen, Lingefilm Geldermalsen, Casa da Musica Porto and many others. We’ll be updating the site soon with dates.
Blackmail was Hitchcock’s final silent film and also his first sound film, and it is without doubt one of the first truly ‘Hitchcockian’ movies.
POSTLAND is Utrecht’s new music collective: a select group of some of The Netherland’s best contemporary players, that chooses its own projects and tries to find new ways to mix musical genres and styles. The core of POSTLAND are 4 musicians/curators: Jana Machalett, Lars Wouters, Jelte van Andel and Enric Monfort.
The JWO combines live musicians with an orchestra of sampled instruments and sound effects to create a new kind of orchestra with an almost unlimited potential. By syncronizing the live players with the samples and the movie, we can give you the illusion that you are listening to a full movie soundtrack. Our audiences have repeatedly told us that it creates an unusally immersive movie experience.
The JWO consists of Oliver Parr (composer) and Panayiotis Ioannou (music production and samples).
