Synthesis, Structure and Properties of Carbon Nanostructures
Показать описание
This MRS David Turnbull Lectureship Award talk by Rodney S. Ruoff, Ulsan National Institute of Science & Technology (UNIST), was presented at the 2014 MRS Fall Meeting.
Rodney S. Ruoff was named the 2014 MRS David Turnbull Lectureship Award winner "for pioneering discoveries related to carbon materials and their innovative preparation, characterization, and mechanics."
Dr. Rouff's abstract for this talk is as follows:
I have been fortunate to contribute to studies on new forms of carbon, such as the fullerenes, metallofullerenes, carbon-encapsulated metal nanoparticles, nanotubes, graphene, metal boride and boron nanoribbons, boron and boron nitride nanotubes, and others. In this talk, I will outline some of the contributions my colleagues and I have made to understand the synthesis, structure, and properties of some of the carbon nanostructures. The talk will highlight, among other properties to be discussed, some aspects of the mechanical properties of such nanostructures.
