I don't get where does the glycosylation happen? rER or Golgi? I have learned that O-linked glycosylation occurs in Golgi but in the collagen case it seems in ER.

I had no clue there where so many types of Collagen. Having Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, I have all the classic signs with the extreme Joint mobility, Weak tendons and ligaments and frequent joint dislocation and chronic joint pain.

However Oddly enough, I don’t seem to present with the stretchy Skin that most forms of EDS have, And My Teeth are naturally strong, hardly requiring much care (Never brushed as a child but never got a single cavity 🤔 I brush now though), My nails are thin and bendy but unlike most people with EDS, even without anything like Biotin my Hair and Nails grow extraordinarily fast, Way faster than normal according to my measurements. But I still bruise easily and present with the normal Atypical scarring, Especially Keloid scarring.

I know that some people with EDS don’t make enough Collagen, and Others just make a very weak version of it. I always thought it applied to all collagen but It seems like a have more or at least stronger of some types of collagen and less or weaker of others. Weird.
