As an engineer, I've been a proponent for expansion of nuclear for power generation for a long time. Since as a society we've been unwilling to make this investment, we will now wish for at least another decade that we had done so.

The survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are the most studied population in history. Those who survived more than 15 years live longer than the general population. Hypothetical question: if nuclear power was safe and clean, would you use it? If your answer is no, I would suggest you are not serious about finding solutions to global warming.
