This isn't going away. AI research is considered a national defense / pride / one-upsmanship game for all countries large enough to host a server farm. And think about this: so what if a few companies go bankrupt. You can get open source code running on open systems with no copyrighted content, and still churn out a ton of stuff.

One day, the prompts will be "in the style of GPT-3" or "execute as Stable Diffusion 2.0".

i can see the artists’ pov. the AI is trained from samples of their work, and then produce something of value out of it, but no royalties are paid to the source artists. it is kind of unfair. the insane profits from tech advances should be facilitating humans to live easier, more creatively fulfilling lives, at a societal level, rather than pushing humans down to be exploited by companies.
