As someone who has worked in cafes before, The most accurate this here is the card tapping.
People of the world - Please Tap AND HOLD your card on the machine Until it beeps!
Not just for 0.5 seconds
The amount of times people have just briefly tapped their card and it hasn't worked and then I've had to say (whilst knowing the exact issue why their card isn't working)
'oh, sorry Sir/Madam, that doesn't appear to have worked, I'm not sure why, maybe try putting it in?'
(Whilst the customer stands there, acting confused why their card doesn't' work!)
instead sometimes I just want to say
'OH FFS TAP IT PROPERLY'
