I was never close with my grandmother, but my great grandmother was the greatest. She died when I was 7, but we could talk about cooking all day with each other. I’m 32 now and still use a lot of her recipes.

my neighbor downstairs from italy used to put all the long pasta over broom handles then hang it between two chairs. she used to cut by hand. took all day for 2 people.
