Giga Berlin | 2022-09-17 | Construction update

A new tent is getting built on the area south of the Drive Unit Building (6:00) while production was running this Saturday at Tesla's Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg.
Holes in the walls of the cell production building, which have been used bring in equipment, are getting closed (6:55) and the cooling units on the roof are getting connected (10:30).
The shuttle train will run on tracks next to the retention wall (9:15) to a new train station (9:40, 13:45 on right side).
The first section of the main road is getting dismantled (9:44) and the side road got a layer of gravel (9:50, 12:52).
Construction of the next parking lot section is progressing (14:05), street lights have been errected (14:36) and foundations with an unknown purpose are getting built (15:00).
At the casting section the walls that have been opened are getting closed with air vent panels and a foundation (probably for tanks) is getting built in front of it (17:02, 17:32).
After a long time, the pile driver for the square piles started working again and placed a lot of piles this week at the extension of the stamping section (19:05) while the first foundation section is getting ready for rebar (19:15).
All cooling units at the central utility building seem to be connected now (22:00) and an underground tank is placed near the waste water treatment (23:00 top right).
The fire station will get an electric fire truck soon, but it didn't arrive yet (23:13). Construction on the future recycling area started with a layer of gravel (24:05). Castings, battery pack boxes and aluminum bars are stored at the distribution area (25:33) and Model Ys are getting loaded onto trucks (27:25).

I am surprised there are so many workers cars in parking lot on the weekend!!! Are they working 7 days on production now? Also, good to see them capture so much water!

22:43 I have a doubt: that in Berlin they are already building with rear giga casting does it mean that they are already building units with 4680 batteries? Or the rear giga casting is carried by everyone and only the front giga casting is the one that is mounted on the units with a 4680 battery?

6:12 this looks like it will be perhaps the largest sprung structure yet. I don’t remember any of the others having foundations this substantial. That suggests that this building will be used for some kind of production and not merely storage.

I don't get why they wouldn't spent some ressources to build parking decks. Looking at this parking situation, any claim about not having enough place for car shipments via train is a little overblown.

04:10h Na da bin ich ja mal gespannt ob die elektroautobauenden Verbrennerfahrer, nachdem die Ladesäulen aktiviert werden, weiterhin die Ladeplätze für Elektroautos blockieren werden. Und ob bzw. was Tesla dagegen unternehmen wird. Abschleppen, ? Fristlos kündigen?
