DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus V3 - First Flight

My very first flight with my new DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ V3 and i do see and feel a lot of difference between the Old P2V+ and this new upgrade version. More power and smooth to fly.

Turn the Transmitter on FIRST!!!  Then you turn on the Phanton on SECOND.   Shutting down, Phanton FIRST, the transmitter SECOND!

Great vid.. It's all down to practice. Please turn on your controls before your DJI Vision.. Regardless of how many times you have done it before with no issues. Lets put it like this : you have £1000 turned on with no control. Your range extender and control box power outway the DJI battery by far. Safe flying

Nice video. Re the cold fingers - you did well to stop flying when you did, I carried on flying when my fingers were numb, just put on a pair of gloves. Lost my P2V+ when I crashed it into the stack outside Latheronwheel harbour a few minutes later. Lesson learned! :-)

Basic rule of ANY remote control system is, you always turn your transmitter on first, then the receiver (quad/ car/ boat etc..)

You should always turn the remote on FIRST then the WIFI extender then the PHANTOM

One other thing other than turning on RC first is try calibrating around the quads axis and not around you. the GPS will hold a lot better. I have seen it done both ways but I found it holds better by rotating in one spot. Very nice flyer!

Personally I think collective pitch RC Heli's are the best way to learn orientation. They are just so unforgiving, if they start to drift and you correct using the wrong control input, bang, you crash! Sort of focuses the mind on getting your control inputs just right, no matter which way the bird is facing. Also, if you're not happy with how the drone (or anything) is flying, then land, turn everything off and then go through your pre-flight check list and start again. Better, cheaper and safer than having an accident. Oh and as everyone has already said, transmitter on first, then turn on the drone. Your drone should never be on while the transmitter is off.

Has DJI change how they start their Quad copter's Now ? I have read all my instructions watched lots of official DJI video's and on every one they say Basic starting ALWAYS start the RC remote first and then the range extender and LAST the phantom, As far as i know this is just basic DJI instructions, I have the V.3 to and it is or does feel more powerful definitely more steady in a hover, Don't know if its because I am using my old vision + batteries or the cold but I am not getting as long a flight time. Keep up with your video's Jack but make sure you get the basics right, there must be a reason they tell you to do this, maybe it steadies the satellites. :O)

No wonder why people have fly aways. Turn the controller on first, then the phantom as the instructions from the factory state.

If I remember ... the correct procedure to power up ... you're suppose to turn on the Extender and controller first then power up the Dji Phantom 2 + V3... that is what's causeing your phantom 2 V+V3 not flying correctly.
