What a fun challenge this was, Suzanne Pleshette's performance and vocals are incredible.

Thank you always to Lyra & Sharon for their support, and to Gezeus for being so quick with the EQ and mix input.

Happy birthday to Mr. Winchan, my spiritual twin, brother, and now (apparently) son♡

Your version has this husky poshness to it that just makes me imagine some disgraced noblewoman, determined to rise back to her proper place in society as she crushes all of her enemies beneath her heel. It’s incredibly appealing, and keeps growing on me the more and more I listen to this cover!

BRO THIS IS MY FAVORITE DISNEY SONG!!!! ZIRA IS SUCH AN UNDERRATED VILLAINESS

Man, Zira in the original song sounds savagely insane. But you give her an air of sophistication that makes her so much more intimidating.

Your voice is so rich and velvety. It elevates me, clears my pores, waters my crops and butters my croissant 👌

I can confidently say that in my eyes, this is absolutely equally fantastic as the original "My Lullaby" in every attribute I could think of. It's unique enough to stand on its own, yet has plenty of the magnitude, tone, resonance, and depth as the original does, and honestly gives me more of a devious vibe than Zira's. Zira was crafty, but her violent and cold way of speaking and the entirety of her plans made her seem ultimately more emotional than intellectual (not that that's a bad thing for a villain to be in terms of appeal).

It's like, Zira's "Lullaby" gives to me the exact impression of who she is overall, a bloodthirsty, vengeful, somewhat unhinged, crafty leader of a rather ragtag group that sought victory. This one, on the other hand, makes me think of Raf being some sort of "fallen experienced authority" or "dark rebel" who has much more than just manpower on her side. Intelligence, tactical and strategic advantage, vision, and a gloriously solid plan that she is looking forward to seeing come neatly into fruition as a new era never seen before, if not directly on the battlefield, then as a leader who put all of the pieces perfectly in place to see it culminate exactly as planned.

I guess another way of looking at it, and a way to sum it up, this feels more grounded, visionary, and ambitious than Zira's.

Everything up to 1:30 was just beautiful, and then everything beyond that was utter fucking perfection. I love the "sleep my angel, precious little thing, " part, and everything beyond that, she sounded so sinister and vengeful, just how Zira was in the movie. This is fucking beautiful and it's definitely my new obsession. Thank you so much for singing this for us!

HOLY SHIT I NEARLY FORGOT ABOUT THIS SONG OH MY GOD THANK YOU FOR THIS NOSTALGIA

This feels like a part of character moment where despite being evil, she genuinely cares for him in her own way. And either this gets used against and she becomes more evil (someone pulls a reverse techno) or he becomes a good and respected hero or whatever, until *she* dies and that’s when he finds his bloodlust for being bad.

So it’s either a song about a great villainous woman rising to power and losing something important to her, or she succeeds, but gets killed, her son then sets out to finish what she started like a self fulfilling prophecy but with him learning from her mistakes.

Shit, you made me make a storyline with this song, you’re fantastic.

Every time we hear the goddess Raf sing, she gives us tremendous gay panic. Your femme fatale voice seems beautiful to us, keep it up. Greetings from Peru uwu 🇵🇪

I gotta say, her voice literally kills this song, especially when she does that little growl when she's talking sinisterly

I dont see enough people mentioning how the "winchan what a guy" line was delivered, but I am in love with it and keep repeating the final act of the song because it is fire!

Intresting that in the movie Kovu's mom (i forget her name) sees her son more as a way of vengance & this version it sounds like she still sees & treats the kid as her actual child & is materially careing to him, but is still evil and blood thritsty
