Santos relegation on 2023 season was also pretty dramatic on the day, you couldn't tell between 3 teams where going down until the games endend if I'm not mistaken, and that was the first time ever Santos was relegated.

This season's German relegation play off had the 2nd division side lead 3:0 in their away game againdt the 1st division side, but then went 0:3 in their home game and ended up losing on penalties.

Nigel Pearson was already a coach in 1999? 😮 Will he ever age?

Bochum against Düsseldorf this season. Bochum lost the first match 3-0 at home and had to return from that in Düsseldorf. Düsseldorf is a very good team at home. They did it. After 90 minutes it was 3-3 on agg. and it went to extra time. No goals but some very close scenes from Düsseldorf. A Bochum player cleared on the line in the 118' minute. It went to penalties. From the first 5, each team missed once. Sudden death. A Düsseldorf player missed, Bochum was saved. This was the most dramatic relegation escape and the best match I've ever wittnessed as a Bochum fan

Actually, the best ever was the 1999 bundesliga relegation battle. To much to talk about, it deserves a full video alone. Basically nürnberg got relegated eventhough they entered the final matchday in 13th, they got kicked by frankfurt by just one single goal, after frankfurt rallied in the second half and won 5-1 against kaiserslautern. The last goal was a cheeky stepover in the 89th minute

Scarborough fans were already on the pitch thinking they had survived because their game finished first.

I live in Scarborough please don’t remind me of this moment

This goal also caused Scarboroughs eventual dissolution

Nothing compares to this. While Robson's West Brom did an incredible job to survive, their last-day escape was madness. It was the Istanbul 2005, Man Utd 1999, or Aguero moment of relegation battles.

brazilian league 2009. fluminense had a 99% chance of relegation during the first half of the tournament, when they bought fred, striker from lyon, and escaped

It was here in the Netherlands 2 years ago between Excelsior rotterdam vs Ado den haag. That final game was crazy with penalties, red cards, and riots after Ado lost and was regulated

I can't be the only one to find it wild that Nigel Pearson was the Carlisle manager in this game.

In the Brazilian league in 2009 I believe, Fluminense had like 97% chance of relegation and managed to escape relegation

What makes the story even more unbelievable is that Jimmy Glass should never be part of that team anyway. They got him much after the transfer window was closed, with special permission by the FA, because one of the goalkeepers was injured.

I met Jimmy Glass when he was player liaison officer at Bournemouth as he hosted us when I took my son to have lunch with the players and watch them train. Class bloke.

Fluminense's battle was WAY MORE DRAMATIC, and Im saying this as a Flamengo fan.

The fact Glass was on loan aswell is just mad. Imagine they never loaned him?

Aberdeen ended bottom of the SPL in 2000. They missed relegation only because Falkirk's ground was not SPL compliant.
