preview_player
Показать описание
An extensive speed test of 5G Ultra Wide band(s) on the Verizon network in the Southwest. The towers that were tested contain the "Ericsson Streetmacro 6701" mmWave radios; Just above 4Gbps was the fastest result. The distance was 200ft from the tower. The iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max were the devices used for the test.
****It was determined that the radio's are "Ericsson Streetmacro 6701" and NOT the Nokia AEUB****

-iPhone 13 & 14 Pro Max used for test results.
-Razer Blade 15 Laptop with WiFi 6 used for Hot Spot Tethering results.
-Ericsson Streetmacro 6701 mmWave Radio Towers used for test results (Covered in Valmont ConcealFab shrouds.) [(Thanks to @RJA for the correct model information)]
-Verizon Beyond Unlimited Data plan used on Verizon 5G UW frequency in this test area.

Great video! That mmWave antenna is actually an Ericsson Streetmacro 6701, not a Nokia AEUB.

Love the video.
What’s the limiting factor of this type of mmWave? I understand the backhaul is 10 Gbps? Also, I don’t understand this type of 5G, at least not the way it’s setup in some places. So, you happen to find you are near a mmWave radio. What do you do? 4 Gbps is so much faster than what people are 0:02 used to, what is the use case? I’m not saying faster speeds are bad, I’m just wondering what one might do, practically speaking, to take advantage of all that bandwidth?
It’s different in a fixed residential situation where you can expect to have all that speed to rely on, but the range is so limited for mmWave, I think it’s kind of a weird implementation for mobile broadband. I don’t understand Verizon’s strategy.

In Germany 5G, (No UW) iPhone 14 Pro Max, Telekom, Download: 1400-1500 Mbit, Upload: 150-160 Mbit, Ping: 11-13 ms.

Regarding the speed test on the 14 Pro Max, my concern is the faster upload speed seen might have nothing to do with the new phone and could just be an adjustment was made at the pole given the one year gap.

Ericsson is always better and stronger than Nokia

I'm glad the video is in bright as fuck in the middle of the night HDR. The video would not have looked good without hdr

I've gotten 3, 949 Mbps down, and 303 Mbps up on my OnePlus 9 Pro here in Bakersfield, in front of a Superior Grocers (on screen recording, off screen recording I've gotten ~4, 050 Mbps down).

Fascinating. How did you manage to do HDR with screen recording?

This is interesting. A lot feel Ericsson is the gold standard of antenna. Very impressive

Interesting to see. With Verizon ending its partnership with Nokia Ericson and going all in with Samsung, I’m curious how long it’ll be until these get swapped out for a Samsung equivalent.

I hope the mobile carrier in my country offers mmWave. I have the US iPhone model with me but only got to use regular 5G.

Thanks for actually testing and identifying the antenna model

We don't get anywhere near those legendary speeds here in the city of Boston, where we have all the big networks with their 5G

It will be good to know what are the bands that phones got connected to.

I hope this can provide ubiquitous broadband to rural areas.

I am happy if Verizon can give me a 1mbs upload speed anywhere, many areas don't even have 10kbs speed with iPhone 12 pro max in 2023, don't give you wrong, att and Tmobile can not able to make a phone call.
