Just want to say, not all new phones have 5G. Motorola Stylus still comes in 4G only models which will save you quite a bit of money over a 5G variant. There are a few others as well that don't come with 5G support.

Well if you use t-mobile there is a high chance that your area has very good 5g support

I almost always get wayy faster speeds on LTE on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Still nice to have 5G though for future proofing.

I don't notice a difference at all between 4 and 5g, if anything 5g seems slower

I have 5G UW here at Walmart. No issues at all with my Galaxy S23 Ultra and Verizon. It's the best!

A man that works on phones for a living was saying every 5 g phone he has taken apart that there isn't even the 5 g chip in it.

I already have bad 4G coverage where I am. I can't imagine the 5G coverage in my area to be better than the 4G coverage.

4G/LTE def seems faster here in the country compared to 5G. I can’t game without lag on 5G unless I switch to LTE. I’ve been in very bad dead zones on standalone 5G, but as soon as I switch to 4G, I have service.

"It's been five years since 5G has came out, but even if you don't have a phone that does not support it..." What is happening to people's grammar?

If you want a 4G phone today, buy a 4G phone. In a year or two, u might upgrade to 5G and get real 5G coverage without paying for it higher power draw.

Gigabytes/second??? Speed is measured in gigabits/second! Memory & storage is measured in gigabytes. GB=GigaByte Gb=gigabit

I just lost my 5G coverage switching to a cheaper carrier that only offers 4G. I find no difference on my iPhone 13. I can watch videos, stream music, surf the web and social media just as good on LTE as I could on 5G. Maybe if I was using a desktop on LTE vs 5G instead of a mobile phone, its very minimal difference. 20 Gbit connection is not needed at all on a cell phone. Also way better rural coverage on LTE and especially 3G vs 5G. The range of the tower is just better on LTE. (We still have 2G and 3G coverage here in Canada on 850MHz)

I live only 0.29 miles away from the T-Mobile tower that is using B25, B41, and B71 for 5G and B2, B4, B12, B66, and B71 for 4G LTE and on my Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone from inside my bedroom, I'm getting 1, 200/50 over 5G and 200/25 over 4G LTE. However, I can now stream 4K from YouTube and other streaming services without it buffering anymore over 4G LTE.

5G's range and penetration is so pitiful that it's utterly useless
At best it may be okay for a single organization's WAN
Anything more and the signal loss renders it slower than even 3G

It's not even megabytes or gigabytes per second. It's MegaBITS and GigaBITS per second. That's why it's not MBps but Mbps.

A bit is 8 times smaller than a byte. So if you got a speed of 50Mbps, you won't get 50 megabytes downloaded every second. You'll only get 6.25 MB every second. So it's kinda an important difference that you're ignoring

I have an iPhone 14 Pro. And it’s five gees course. But when I visit a friend they have slow Internet. They still use LTE on their phone and I seem to cannot connect. What can I change on my iPhone to go and connect without Wi-Fi remember it is slow old equipment at their house. I hope somebody can answer it for me because I’m learning so so much about this stuff.

You’re saying 20 gigs a second??
For a phone?
Thats impossible … you’re confused
When talking gigabyte, megabytes megabits
Etc etc etc
