Active crossover filter DIY

Показать описание
This is an active crossover filter design to make a small 2.1 system that I can use in my home.
I used a couple of bookshelf speakers and a sub-woofer that I had in storage from an old dismatled Home Theatre system.

Files can be found here:

The design is based on Rod Elliots SVF design, see link:

You can find all of my designs on my GitHub:

Some modules that I have designed myself are available in my Tindie shop:

Thank you for watching!

Thanks for this great video! Very well shot and clearly commented. Mentioning all the daily life errors we all do makes it even more likable. Sharing the schematics etc. is a very kind, too!

I like this video because I have thought of doing something similar for my synth setup. Happy New Year!

hello sir, amazing build, could you help me out with how you have aligned the inputs and outputs with the holes on the front and back panel?

Very nice job. I would be interested to learn about your PCB layout process for circuits like this.

Looks awesome ! would be keen to get some measurements from your design to get an idea on how it performs (THD/filter response etc)

Doesnt such a filter introduce a time delay so the sub will always lagg behind the front speakers? I've never heard good transient bass notes sound right without delay on the fronts to match the slowness from filter and heavy cone in the subwoofer.. In regular speakers you often see a 1. order filter that introduce a minimal phase delay of 90 degree. I have multiple subs myself but without delay on the fronts, it doesnt sound right nomatter how I adjust the dsp on the subs. A friend of mine bought a Wiim amp with delay on the fronts, and for real that made the mono sub integrate and sound SO much better. I feel this issue is a truly overlooked issue in 2.1 setups.
