As a New Yorker I can tell you that it definitely meets and often exceeds the hype. The pastrami is hot, the bread is soft, the mustard is slightly spicy, and it all goes down well with a Dr. Brown’s cream soda.

PS: if you want the full Katz’s experience, ask for a schmear of chopped liver on that hot pastrami or hot corned beef sandwich. You only live once, so why not push it to the limit?

I'm a native New Yorker. Born and raised, and I have to say it. IT IS SO WORTH IT. (also pro tips for tourists: DON'T STAY IN MANHATTAN stay in downtown Brooklyn or Williamsburg and If you want to try Katz's go to the one downtown on Flatbush Avenue. Look for a target and trader joes in the same building!!!)

First time I've heard you do an in-video ad and it was a tad jarring. But I don't begrudge it- you worked it in just fine. Plus, Geico gifted us with years of ads by a digital gecko with a British accent, so they're a net social good, I think.

I ordered chopped liver to be sent to my home in MA - it was so delicious I devoured it in one day! The packaging of Katz’s product was so carefully packed as the product was shipped frozen and meant to be defrosted during shipping process. Truly a time honored company and product! ❤️

I go there on a Saturday early morning 20 mins after it opens and bring home a ton of pastrami from there. Generous portions and def worth the hype!

My Mom’s cousin was the Head Chef. He passed in 2015. Greatest deli in the world!

Austin Tx had a Katzs, and it was also good. My favorite was the Reuben and the pot roast sandwich and the fried pickles. No place has replaced Katz till this date

finally, you went to a 'real nyc' spot. even though the hoards of tourists have found it, it's very 'old ny' -- & the best pastrami sandwich you'll ever have. to the person who wants bread toasted, i say go somewhere else. i recommend gray's papaya (72nd & broadway) for the best hot dogs -- 2 dogs & a foamy papaya drink. the cheapest really good meal.

Just know, especially with how much pricier food in the city has become, and this restaurant already being on the pricey side, this sandwich is gonna run you back $30.
