For AP lang, I would say there are two HUGE advantage and disadvantage for students.
For the MCQ parts, not being able to go back to questions is not beneficial at all, because almost all students' reading habit is to skip a question if they could not figure it out right that moment.
But the digital version will help students' writing so much. We generally type faster, we could outline the essays easier, and change or add to the paragraphs wherever we want. Personally, I just love being able to type on a computer rather than handwriting.
For AP world history, canceling the LEQ would definitely help many students who just struggle with it. and similar to AP lang, people don't have to suffer from writing on paper and scribbling anymore, and SAQ is just so much easier to structure and answer than LEQ.

7:45 to get full marks on the dbq in apush you must provide an instance or info that had not been mentioned in the documents. Allowing open notes would allow the test taker to be able to locate an event in the time period that would complete their response.

Wait, if I accidentally leave a question unanswered, and hit next, will i not be able to re answer that unanswered question? So what if someone skips a bunch of questions planning on returning but cant go back to his unanswered questions? Isn't it better to guess? Why would the college board allow people to skip questions without answering them without going back? Isnt that pointless? Why would they allow that, I know people can be stupid but they have to have accounted for this... if not then the college board needs to reform itself.

How are they preventing cheating on other devices? Couldn't you very easily just use another one? (For example, using Symbolab on a calculus exam or IntelliJ on a CSA exam gives you a huge advantage and there's no way for them to design the tests to negate that advantage).

I think it is definitely an advantage taking Digital over in person. First, you get to type all of your free response questions. That alone will save you so much time. Second, you don't have an LEQ, you have more SAQs. If it is a stimulus SAQ, you practically get one free point. Most stimulus questions ask you to answer a question that you can find in the source given. That is a free point that you could miss having to write a perfect LEQ. Also, I don't see there being big difference in the multiple choice of in person vs digital. They're all going to be hard. And, of course, you get to take the digital version from the comfort of your home instead of in a classroom that smells heavily like cleaning products while you're wearing a mask XD

Wait, if we are testing at home, how are we going to be prohibited from using notes?
Also, if we are taking the test in-person (like for AP Calc), would we be allowed to go back in MC questions?
